Who makes a rear inlet intercooler?

I need a intercooler for my 93 gs that has the inlet on the rear of the intercooler. I need it to resolve the issue in the picture below. I know I have seen one but have searched and I cannot locate one. Thanks for the help.

Why not just get a curved coupler hose?

Like this.

Well that’s cool I have never seen that before. Do you think that someone would notice that the I.C. is off center about 2 inches? I still have to get a new bumper and stuff. Thanks for the info. Know anyone that is using one of these?

Alot of people use these.
3 of my friends have em’ (2 MKIII Supras and 1 EK Civic)

Who cares if your IC is off, just paint it flat black and go for that sleeper look.

you can go with full-race but thats expensive… otherwise what i did was just weld up the original inlet hole with a piece of aluminum and then cut a hole where the “back door” would go and weld in a piece of aluminum tubing.

I have an IC that used to have the pipe facing out the back, but I got it cut off and redone.

I got it from a PT Luiser Turbo.
Pretty nice size though. 2 x 1 ft and 2 1/2 thick.

Yeah that is the one I saw before. I forgot how much it cost. I think that I am going to try to use the elbow first. I guess you have to tig aluminum correct? I have to finish the rest of my setup. Got my boost controller in and now I have to tune for the new boost. Think 10 psi will be ok on a ls for a while. I have another b18 that I have started on but I really want this one to last so that I am not in a rush on the other motor.

Currently using:

If you know someone who knows how to weld aluminum, I have a intercooler with a hole for a back door. You just need a end tank to get welded on in the back for the silicone cuz I had to use it for my new one. I dynoed 465 with it.

I might be interested I have to find out if my buddy can do aluminum.

Thanks

welding aliminum is some scary shit ahaha. makes lots of noise and the welds are fucking thick! looks cool though.

What is the required equipment and filler metal?

i dont know personally, but the guy that does all my welding i know did TIG welding and im assuming aluminum rod.

Ok Kewl. Well I have someone who will weld tig. I am waiting on one of those silicone 90s then I will see if that looks better. I just wonder how much crap I will get for not having the IC in the exact front.

hey as long as the car is fast, fuck em! ahahah

Yeah I have to get it to the dyno. I had it dynoed at 3 psi on stock injectors and a crazy rich fuel tune and retarded timing and had 158 at the wheels. So I hope to do a lot better this time around.

SRT’s use rear inlets stock. Factory FMIC’s go for about 70 shipped. Try an SRT board (srtforums.com , etc) to get pics, examples, what have you. If I still had a stock FMIC laying around, I’d take some measurements and see if it would fit your needs, but alas… all I’ve got is the 24x12x3.5 Garret/AGP monster on the car.
