Why does a car do this?

I saw it on a Turbo 240. I only know it was turbo because I heard the BOV. Why do they spit fireballs out the exaust?

Because there runniing extremely high amounts of boost…or he has a spark plug in the exhaust

I think it was high boost. End on 1st, about a bus leingth. end of second about a football field leigth, and at the end of third, I didn’t even see him anymore.
