wideband oxygen sensor , anyone?

hi guys, im now at the point i really have everything to start my project but for the o2 sensor.
i chipped my ECU with uberdata already and i see we have the choice of many wideband possible in the datalogging section.

My question,
since i’m looking for cheap alternatives,

  1. what o2 sensor should i use,
  2. where to get it a and
  3. can i use a wideband without its controler ( 5wires, 2 of them are analog 0-5v output???)
    thank you, really appreciate
i’ve heard wideband can be red by interpreting a switch in frequencies (not like a conventional 0-1V stepping o2sensor) and thats why it really needs an analog converter

is this what im looking for?

jegs is having a sale on the aem uego $252 i think check it out

I can get you the Innovate LC-1 for $199 plus ship. Email me…

Good for where to get it, but still i’d like to know,

is Innovative a common wideband o2 sensor with its own analog output built in the harness OR is he analog output coming directly from the sensor.

Because my idea is to get the bosh (about 60$) and plug it into my ECU and read with uberdata#Crome and voila! Is this possible?

so are you wanting a wideband with a guage that doubles as the o2 sensor that your car ecu uses as well to throw a cel if something is wrong?

well i dont really get what your saying but i only wanted a wideband to hookup to my uberdata chipped ECU to tune it, and after this, take it off and drive like a fool ! thats why i dont want something incredibly expensive, i dont need these fancy digital screens.

oh and by the way, once it is tuned, do we need to run open loop all the time?

Not possible…you need a wideband controller to control and read the actual sensor. All together its one ‘system’

The innovate is a very common system. They are shipping over a 1000 per month at this point and growing strong.

They have their own forums too for support.

very well oriented answer !
ok then i think ill buy the innovative, for the price… 199 + s/h

what dyou think?

so if he or I were to get this one http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=16164&cat=252&page=1 since it has both ports i can have the wideband part hooked up to the gauge and the narrowband hooked to my ecu so it acts as my standing o2 sensor so my ecu throws a code if something is wrong?

Exactly…you can also feed a wideband signal to your ECU when you are datalogging or tuning. And dont think of the narrowband as a way to signal if there is a problem…it more for fuel mileage and emissions that the ECU uses its feedback. I rarely (if ever) let a tuned customer go off with the O2 sensor enabled…

Again if either of you need one of these let me know, I am setting up as an Innovate Dealer and should be an official G2IC sponsor very soon

most definitely, im really looking into the lc1 with the digital gauge so when you become a dealer let me know for sure $400 from them isnt a bad deal but a g2ic hook up would be even better

I use a PLX M-300. it works great.

I can make it happen right now.

Email me…lets not ruin the thread

xenocron gets my feedback  helped me alot with emails back and forth. One question since im gonna be using Turboedit does it have a datalogging feature so i can moniter a wideband? Dont know if i need to get a display for the wideband or not. Also is there a way to hook a labtop up to a chipped ECu and moniter parameters on that? thanks and sorry for jacking your thread

Has Innovate fixed their problem with picking up the Honda RPM signal for the datalogging?

There is a couple ways to do it…took me a while with the inductive clamp but works fine once I finally got it calibrated. Been working for well over a year now…
