will a half-size radiator from an EG fit in the DA?

Will it? and is there any modification or is it a direct drop in? I have no AC so that doesnt matter.

I think you will have to modify the brackets that hold the radiator, but thats it

thats a good question i was wondering the same thing. i tore my AC cause it didn’t work any way and i was thinkin of getting an aluminum eg radiator to put in there instead of the huge stock one. cause my radiator is bad and i need to get a new one but i didn’t know if it was ok to put the smaller radiator in ther.

yep it will fit. you have to cut the front transmission mounting tabs off the front crossmember and modify the mounting tabs. also, either make a new top bracket or get one from an EG.

how well does it cool? Does your car run hot or the same temp? If i do it i won’t be able to afford a aluminum one i would just end up buying a factory eg radiator.

Off topic: Do you have a 94+ head on that motor? If you do was it that hard to put on and did you notice and difference in performance?

I just put one in yesterday and it fit pretty well. You should make/modify the brackets for the bottom and you can reuse the top bracket in a different bolt hole…I’ll try to get pics- But its not too hard to do

oh yeah btw are we talking 92-95 civic right?

changing valve covers dosnt improve hp… its manily for looks.
josh

I thought he changed the head not the valve cover. i know that doesn’t have anything to do with it. But the newer heads are 10 hp more than a stock DA thats why i asked.

It cools like it should, I only run hot in traffic. That is until I flip the switch and turn my fan on. You should be fine with a single core EG radiator. However Del Sol VTEC (w/B16a3) had dual core radiators…

And you should as mentioned by 91Teggy cut the old mounts off and either make new ones or reuse the old ones but just weld them intot he correct place. What I did however was have a friend weld pedastals to my full-race traction bars to hold the radiator up.

94-95 have the same valve cover as 90-93. 96+ LS/B20’s have this valve cover. No, I didnt put a 96+ head on my car. I put a complete 98 B20B in my car!

No shit, really? Its a B20 swap.

So your just running a stock B20 motor/head?

yep.

yes

vac diagram for the guy i sold my turbo to

also, be sure u get a fan, ESPECIALLY WITH THE SINGLE CORE.

before i did at stop lights it would shoot right up to H
