The Dark kind

But really, I’ve never done this, but find a dull black. No reason to have gleaming windsheild wipers. I wouldn’t think you would have to prep much for this, just don’t use too much paint.

You can always get those “racing” windsheild wipers off of ebay. I love those.

I just found a can of indoor/outdoor paint and then i just sprayed them, didn’t prime or clean them or anything…i was just bored one day. THen paint has stayed on fine, it been about 6 months or so. The only problem i’ve had is that i accidentaly got degreaser on them and i have spots of paint that came off. I’m thinking abot repainting them white but i’m don’t want them to stand out alot.

don’t paint them white. My friend painted his white on his teg and I make fun of him everyday.

Waats- I’m talking about the wiper arms not the blades. MIne have faded silver over the years so has a lot of other people

I had the same problem. The first time I got a can of flat black ,took the wiper arms of the car and painted them.It lasted 1 winter. So what I did the following summer was took the wiper arms off(the blades as well)sanded them down the to roughen up the finish wiped them clean with isopropanal(rubbing alcohol)to clean the suface. When dried I primed them and then painted them again with the flat black(2 coats of the black). No prblems and it has been 2 winters.Good luck.it’s real easy just make sure that you line up the wiper arms correctly.I didn’t and on the highway the driver side arm was actually going off the car.Very funny but not the best thing for the car.

I’ve repainted my wipers at least 3 times. The second time I stripped all the old paint off then used primer and several coats of black. It STILL chipped after 1 winter.

Last month I had all 3 powdercoated semi-gloss black. They are PERFECT. We’ll see in a few months how they handle the winter abuse. It would have been maybe $15 but the shop had a $25 minimum charge. Make sure you pry the rubber bumpers off of the front wipers before you get them painted.

i sanded all the old paint off, and just repainted with flat black high heat paint. so far so good. it’s been like a month and a half…

just painted mine last weekend with a good outdoor paint, they look good.

i didn’t even clean mine before i painted them, lol. i sprayed 6 coats
been a few months and they still look good

Has anybody figured out how to make the paint last? I really don’t want to keep having to repaint the wipers every year. Anybody got a method that lasted 3 or more years?

Just an idea but,

Get some Dupli Color Wheel clear coat.

I did my wheels in Dupli color Clear coat and omg, I used a pressure washer
and They still would not chip or anything,

I’d assume if they worked on many diffrent wheel surfaces they would work on the wiper arms,

Like I said, I’ll try this tomm. I have flat black paint and the clear coat, just give me a few hours in the morning.

i used indoor outdoor paint on my wiper arms, Of course i cleaned them first… So far i dont have any problems with them… They are painted flat black along with my emblems (painted with the same paint) and so far so good…

I wash my teg once a week also so i think that would help take the paint off, but no signs of fadeing or chipping yet…

i would lightly sand them and paint them flat black.

dont ever paint windshield wipers a wild color. theres np reason to draw attention to windshield wipers. thats as stupid as bright colored wire looming in the engine bay.

i dont realli get how to paint them… im guessin ur using spray paint? and how do u not get any paint on the rubber that wipes the windshield?

This is what I did. I took mine off and put paint remover on the blades, and whiped them off. Then after that, I washed them in gasoline and let them air dry for 24 hours. After that I hung them in the raised position, then sprayed them with black primer, waited another 24 hours and hit them with a matte finish.

I painted my wiper arms flat black as well as the hood, trunk, spoiler and gas cap because of the surface rust that i cleaned and fiberglassed. I didnt have to prep my wiper blades since it was bare metal and the paint extra engine temp paint that i had lying around. My car looks a lot better from when i got it.

i just sanded and sprayed matte black on them. been about a year with no problems.

I’m gonna paint mine sometime this week. My friend took the blades off, and hung them from the ceiling with some string attached to the hook, and we just sprayed them. Of course we sanded them down first.

Would this qualify as a bump from the dead?
