wondering what coilover or shock/sleeve combo is good for slamming?

honestly from my own personal experience. ive ran stock kyb shocks and used just the ebay coilover drop springs (only 4 inches high) and on another da that i used to own, i used to have koni blue shocks, skunk 2 coils and iever really noticed a difference. they both ride stiff and hard… not bouncy like cut up stock springs. but stiff!! EITHER way… ur gonna have a dropped and stiff ride. i dont think our integras will ever have a smooth ride like how others are claiming… all i know is if i wanted a smooth car, id be driving a lexus! SO UNTIL THEN… drop it low and make ur car scrap!! LOL

[QUOTE=usdm420;2249464]I’ve owned both…so whatever you want to believe.

my full skunk 2 coilover setup rides beautifully, regardless of your opinion…the harsh bumps, potholes, manholes that are raised in teh road…of course you’re going to feel those harshly…but then again on stock suspension it’d still jar your teeth. with that said, mine ride close to stock

i’m not on skunk 2 sleeves and struts

You’re not SLAMMED either…which is what this thread is asking. You can get ebay coilovers with Tokico shocks to ride close to stock if you’re not dumping the shit out of your car. My Koni/GC setup rode BETTER than stock when I raised it up to what would be considered a “sport drop”.

if my driveway allowed it, i would be slammed believe me, but its way too steep, i’m metal to asphalt right now angeling just a hair the wrong way. when i go to ECHM i’m slamming it for the trip, and i will report back. either way, my ride is very nice, so you’re opinion is irrelevant to mine

You don’t need to report back to me…I’ve already owned Skunk 2 Pro Series coilovers. I know exactly how they ride when slammed. My “opinion” of GC/Koni vs. S2 is based off my own EXPERIENCE with both products. And I’m not trying to convince you of anything. The thread asked what is the best suspension to SLAM their car. In my EXPERIENCE…it is Koni/GC with top hats.

100% with u usdm420 the koni/gc with top hats will get u crazy low and still ride and handle good

The best ride i had when slammed is koni/gc with tophats, i’ve had ksports, skunk2 pro s, illuminas with ground controls, gr2’s with skunk2, tein basics.

I know everyone is different with setups and how they feel but the skunk2 pro s was the worst feeling suspension out of all the setups i had, the ksports were nice but they would bottom out once in a while. If i had extended tophats on the other coilover setups they would of been better

Thank you. I’m not trying to hurt feelings…if you have them and you like them…good for you. But in my experience, they ride like shit compared to other setups.
HB420, my buddy has K-sports with GC tophats. It rides pretty nice.

How did the illuminas on GC ride? I Have a brand new set of illuminas and was going to get GC’s for them and also top hats. Just wondering what your opinion of those struts is?
