Ive been thinking of selling my 93 teg for a celica gts 2000. Just wanted somthing newer and a stick mine is auto . I love my teg it has a b20 and is very clean everyone loves my car cause it is so clean and nice for a older car. What if any suggestions do you guys got. I drive it everyday to. around 2 grand is what i need for the celica and around 1grand to make it a stick. Iam torn on what to do. thanks.

The Celica GT-S is a nice car. I used to own a Celica, although it was GT. Nice car and fun to drive. Good handling, light weight, good brakes.
I wouldn’t sell my DA to buy one though, DAs are hard to find in good shape these days.
I would definitely move up from an auto DA to a 6-speed Celica GT-S. No comparison.
If I were you I would do it if you want a newer car, manual and for peace of mind if you get pulled over with the B20. Sounds like that is where you are already leaning. For the gt-s model, I wouldn’t even hesitate.
I would get the celica man. They are really fun 2 drive and the handling is great. I’m not sure the auto to manual would be worth it
BOOO ! I’d do it if I wasn’t such a DA lover, my experiences with these machines are the greatest so I personally couldn’t sell my teg to get a celica.
If your integra was manual and in good condition i’d keep it. But since its auto I would take the Celica if it were also in good condition. My buddy has a celica and for some reason the ladies love it? Now i have a 93 white DB2 that is stock and it rarely gets any compliments from guys or girls. Its all about you want. Want it for looks? I guess a Celica will do it.
hell no. I had a teg with a b20. waaay better than a celica. I’d equate a celica with getting a gen3. wouldn’t do it.
There’s got to be a better choice then a celica, if not i wouldn’t do it.

lightweight? dont they weight about 3500 pounds? personally i wouldnt do it. if you like the DA then you would be better off investing some money into it and keeping it. i got rid of my first DA and regretted it for 5 years until i got my current DA. in those 5 years i had a lot of cars that were a lot “nicer” and newer but they never could compare.

I OWN**(AT THE MOMENT STILL HAVE IT)** A 2000 CELICA GTS. IT HAS TRD CATBACK, INJEN COLD AIR INTAKE, PORTED HEADERS, B&M SHORT SHIFTER. TUNED ON safc2 AND THAT SHIT BE KILLING MOSTLY ALL GSR’S AND SI’s OUT THERE. (unless they are boosted) which if i boost my GTS will be a different story!
IF YOU GUYS RESEARCHED… THE CELICA gts( 2zzge) the same motor in the lotus elise and the MR2!! WAS THE REASON THE rsx-s (K20) WAS MADE BECASUE THE GTS WAS DESTROYING ALL OTHER HONDA MOTORS. and my 6 speed tranny shift and feels perfect! just second gear is a lil long! but with power thats great thing. the vvtl-i kicks in harder on the celica than the honda vtec.
i also own a 96 EK AND a 1990 DA. BOTH CARS are awesome. but if we are talking about stock performance the celica GTS will destroy any DA stock. even the GSR. I TALK FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE SINCE I OWN BOTH CARS. im not picking sides but i just dont like the fact half of you guys out there talking shit about something you guys dont know about.

i dunno. i had the gt-s before. full rod millen kit. they’re pretty quick. the vvti feels nice. gotta get used to the blind spots though. the seats sit you very low, while the dash/windows are high. not like a da where the dash is very low.
obv ppl on a site dedicated g2i’s are gonna sway that way.
celicas can be nice. but, i dunno. i tend to like anything with seats, 4 wheels and a motor
The ONLY celica i’d ever buy is the GT-Four. Turbo charged and 4wd… i’d drive that any day over a G2
