i was checking out the Z10 websiteand they make a breather plug, now i am assuming that this elimintaes the breather box on the back of the block, it looks like it can be threaded in the middle to accept a fitting, what im wondering is do you guys think you could make a custom pvc system with this thing? i am thinking i am going buy it and see what i can do, any imput would be appreciated. Ill let u guys know if i try it.
yes it for a catchcan
you can get the fittings from honda OEM Too
I run the Z10 plug. Works great. Snug fit. You’ll ahve to drill out alot if you want to thread a fitting in tho, as it’s a solid piece of aluminum.
i have oem ones from a build i started years ago, i heard the tube part of the fitting actually goes into the block a bit further than oem. do you have pix of the inside of the z10 plugs?
me? sry no pics.
Ive heard that all you need to do is hammer it in if any trouble. our lube it up.
its meant for the z10 catch can setup that eliminates the stock pcv system. The plug is just simply a plug. Its a solid piece of aluminum. It pretty much looks like a bigger version of a aftermarket cam seal. you take out that black box on the back of the block and you use the plug to plug up that big hole in the block thats left there… then with the catch can setup, you take out the 2 freeze plugs on the back of the block, hook up 2 fittings and hoses that run to the catch can. And you can run a T off one of those hoses and hook up a line to the valve cover
Some people like to take there lines out the valve cover. Thats a big thing with EG owners. You can also use a piece of aluminium cut to almost fit and seal with Devco or JB Weld. The fittings for the block are old school prelude fittings aren’t they? THe thread ones I’m talking about.
99 si, i forget what they are used for. i bought mine right from honda tho. z10 = gay man. they never responded to my email, and im trying to buy 2 fittings. anyone know where to buy the Breather Box Plug, and Metric Oil Pump fitting? both are in the block fittings section of z10 but they don’t like responding to customers. =(
I ordered my Z10 stuff from Garage Five in Vancouver… Anyone taht is a dealer for them can get you them. Also I wouldn’t say running lines out the valve cover are an EG thing at all. If you’re making the power, then it’s needed in any engine. I have them on mines. and the endyn setup at the block.
well i know Z-10 had a issue last year when all of their workers quite and started their own companies… i dunno if they ever really recovered from that so that maybe why they are slow… i know it took me like 3 months to get my catch can
