1991 Acura Integra DA

with the exception of the “h” in the valve cover, I don’t see the difference in the two valve covers?

ProMcCown: Your right, Its a B18B1
ls/vtecstitch: I cant tell the difference either. Noticed the H and the valve cover ground though.

So im guessing in order to fix this and have a better flow of coolant I should just get another FITV? One that has a single hose outlet?

Yes that’s the only difference I noticed. When I did my b20 swap I noticed the fitv was to different to just swap to the intake manifold. You may need a newer intake manifold all together or just have the line plugged as is. Since my car is bard I can’t change my intake Mani to a newer year. So for now I just have it plugged.

I have looked in to it. There is a block off that you can place there but I heard the cons would be that when your trying to start the car in cold it will take longer to warm up the cat. But idk still looking into what options I have. Would like to go all out on this one just keep the looks the way it is. Would like to get rid of suspension, looks like its cut oem springs on tokico shocks. Rides somewhat good but shocks will sooner or later get blown. Will have to get back to working.

Fast Idle Valve

Seen one on Ebay for $90. Would prefer to have this instead of a block plate.

I tried to use the one that came with my b20 but the bolt holes don’t line up.

As for blocking it off. I made a plate and sandwiched it between the fitv and intake manifold. When you start it up in the cold it will run a little rough because the idle is at the norm spot, but if you give it a little gas like an old car that didn’t come with an fitv and it’ll be fine. You’ll still need to plug the line on the block though.

ProMcCrown: Ahh that sucks. Would rather block it then. What if the line on the block aint there? I tried to find but nothing.

if you use a block off, you’ll still have to plug a coolant line, because of the one that goes to the intake manifold. Also if you use a block off plate on a stock intake manifold they might fail you on smog, I’m not 100% sure, but since it’s on the intake manifold I think they can say it’s been tampered with.

Oh I forgot about that one. Yea I see what you mean. Ill just keep it around for smog and remove when I drive daily. Yea ill be leaving it the way it is for now.

Ignition Timing (Timing Belt)
Catalytic Converter

Wow yeah your ignition timing is way off. If the cat is pretty old a new one couldn’t hurt.

ProMcCown: I know right. Well I gotto do the timing but this will be my first time timing a car.

VHT Black Wrinkle

Can I have it? ^ jk Looks great. Did u bake it?

fr1s: Haha thanks and no I didn’t. Will see what happens. Ill be getting more valve covers later to start a collection, then ill completely bake those. Don’t have a spot to bake atm.
