Hey, do you find it possible to get the same results with a built head and 10psi? I’ve seen one put those kind of #'s up on boosted hybrid, but he blew it up. I’m trying to accomplish this (300whp) with my daily and no more than 10psi. Just asking if this is realistic. Most people are running over 10psi, but the one’s I’ve seen aren’t built.
It all comes down to cost. Do you have the head professionally ported, all new valves and valves train, cams etc put it for MEGA bucks? Or do you up the boost 5 psi and pay no more money except for pristine tuning…?
300 whp on a daily driver stock block LS is risky, no doubt…so you def need to have a backup plan or some serious balls to do it, built head or not.
I don’t plan on using stock internals, but will be using stock block. I’ve heard they’re good as long as it’s tuned right.
Rods and ringlands are the weak link in the LS motor…you should be fine with forged internals.
very nice. can we say sleeper??? :burnout:
Cool thanks for the info, now all I need is donations from everyone that posted so I can start building.
wow, this is am amazing little machine. Man id be happy with 250 whp :manual: I bet she is Loads of fun to drive, I imagine smoky tires with just a flick of the ankle.
I saw where u said u have a walbro 255 and dsm injectors, but what fpr are u running?
nice work man
B&M FPR for now. When I get my winter project done, I will probably be running another inline pump with an Aeromotive FPR and 660 injectors
Xenocron: Myself and many others have always used LS rods in d-series blocks and made gobs of power with them and never had any problems. We’ve also used stock rods in the LS and ran lost of boost for loooong periods of time and never had any problems either. With our CRX drag car we built we ran LS rods in a d16 and were putting down 514 whp @ 24psi boost.
My personal opinion is that they are very strong and I would say good to 400 whp on the street. You are right about ring lands though. I think they are made of plastic. :giggle:
By the way, not arguing with you just sharing my opinion and experiences.
so u are running full 2.5 exhaust, but do u have a catytlic converter? and whats your timing set at? is it stock? I am putting together a turbo kit too, which is very similar to yours, would u mind if I use your 300whp .bin file until I get my car on a dyno?
Yep, full Kteller 2.5" exhaust with a Carsound high flow cat, an 18" resonator and a Magnaflow Oval ES muffler.
Timing on the distributor is set to stock (16 degrees) and I dont mind if you use my BIN but the question is will your motor mind
hey xenocron, I noticed on your website that u are also selling chipped ecu’s. I need one for a 92 LS, 5spd. My email is boostcap51@yahoo.ca Can u email me a price that includes shipping to Toronto? using chrome by the way, thanks in advance.
talking about chipped ecu, can you make a pr4 good for vtec engagement ? i heard it was possible…
on a stock ls too must be sooo fun to drive…
Yes, you can add the VTEC components to an OBD1 PR4 ECU
Isn’t that a little on the lean side of things for a boosted car? I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 11-11.5:1 afr, would be ideal for a daily driver on 91 octane. 12-12.5:1 afr’s for n/a? What octane gas are you using? Also upgraded fuel pump?
Other then that very impressive numbers for your setup.
Not lean at all really…i know a lot of guys that stay 12.5:1 up until ~15psi. Its all about what your motor wants…you have to give it to her.
Of course a Walbro 255 and i use 92-94 Octane gas…
What are the odds I get a ride when I come down :P?
Time to put it away for the winter soon, or you gonna be pulling the engine for your other project?
Still out and running…
so  sleepy
must be fun
