hey my car is a 91 ls, i have my fmic in and is seems i will need to cut a ton of the front of it so my fmic will fit and then cut more so my pipes can run where they need to go. can the guys with the same bumper post some pics, or should i just find a 92-93 bumper and sale my lip… Rus

You should search, this has been over a billion times… there is definatly some cutting involved.

different IC and the positioning make a difference too, If u got a big old 4 inch deep 10 inch tall IC ur not gunna have much left of a bumper, but if u keep it small and it should be able to clear the bumper with only cutting to the back

yeah, i don’t think mine will look like that at all. i have a 91 ls and my fmic looks like it’ll fit perfectlly in opening…we’ll see.
Make sure you post up pics if you come up with a better way. :idea:
There is not alot of depth to work with on the lower half of the 90-91 bumper and the vents get in the way of charge pipes. It may be easier to make something happen with 2" charge pipes.
ya it may fit in the opening, but when you route your pipes you will find that between the bumper and the bumper support and the radiator support there is no room. thats you have to cut so much of the bumper. if you do make it work i will sell you my type-r lip, b/c i am going to find a 92-93 bumper. :hyper:
i could make it work and make it look good, but here where i live everyone talks trash about everyones cars, and i would rater hide as much as possibale… :gotrice: i like to stay away from that kind of gossip! :whisper:

i wasn’t dissing your install at all…i was just sayin i don’t think i’ll have tp cut as much! intercooler size effects it too. i will be using 2" charge piping, so that should help.

piping fits perfectly, it is just the air factor i guess, if u get a small one u can put it where ur condensor was (like a sidemount) or just try and grind the back of it out a lil, im sure that it is very possible to make it look 10,000 times better than that pic
no the pipping dont fit perfectly, when the bumper is mounted in place ther is only about an 1.5in of room for the pipes. thats why the bumper has to be moded so much.
You all can speculate all you like, but its a pretty tight fight with that bumper. I thought about it quite a while and did alot of research before I cut up my bumper.
I would seriously love to see it done with less cutting. :-* I dont take offense to anyone being critical about the way my bumper looks. IMO its about the best you can do with that bumper.
whatever, why go 2inch evetully ur gunna want to upgrade might as well go big up front
