92BlueTeg's All Motor ITB build and restoration thread

Nice job. Gotta replace that fuel rail with something better in the near future. Can’t have those shiny ITBs there with a rough looking rail

I guess this isn’t much of a “retirement” thread, anymore. lol.

I can tell already. Did Mike keep the IACV? or did he have them tune it at a higher rpm. It’s never getting driven during winter so I debating on ditching it.

I grabbed it from weksos. It’s the 330mm Classic. Smaller than the stock, but I like the size better after driving with it.

Haha, yea not much of a retirement anymore. Hoping I can get her out of retirement and back on the road. Still need to pick up a ton of parts and put labor into it. I posted in the forum help section to change the name yesterday.

The fuel rails just sitting in there. I wanted to test fit everything before I finished welding it up. Right now I’m saving money for the block and clutch. Once that’s set I can start getting my fuel accessories and finish the engine up. I hate that money’s the only thing stopping me from getting this project moving :frowning:

colt state park this weekend? car meet happening!

Renamed for you, sir

Mike had to ditch everything except for the tps, MAP and IAT. Here’s some pics of the setup. He’s going back next week for what will hopefully be the final tune. I love the way it sounds. Let me know if you need his email for questions that you might have etc.

Thanks a ton Jake!

Still looking clean. I see he got the new header installed to  that’s good to know. I was debating on making a plate but I feel it’s going to look like crap having a iacv hanging out with no place to hide lol. I just got through making my iat flange, and need to complete the tps adapter. Haven’t figured out the map sensor yet. I have to take a look at it again and figure out an adapter to make and fit it to a vacuum canister.

Btw I hate him for having all that room in the bay. I love the DA but it’s just impossible to fit anything lol.

damn i came when i saw that ej/eg bay good gawd

Haven’t had much chance to work outside on the car. Looks like today will be a great day to break into it though. But here’s some update

For a long time I had a feeling I needed a new radiator. Well…I was right haha.

Cleaned and painted my distributor and vtec solenoid. My signature sailor jerry’s cap will be going back on, as soon as I finish a new bottle

I hate my job. I can’t wait to get into something else. But since I’m here. Might as well make a few thing.

Map sensor port. Set up kinda like a factory throttle body. Has a flush mount bracket. No idea where I’m putting it yet.

Itb’s are Done!!! Finally all welded up and painted. I’m only able to work on stuff during breaks, which isn’t long enough lol.

Subscribed! Great work so far, was gonna go the ITB route as well until I came across a cheap turbo kit.
Good luck! By far, my favorite G2 color!

Thanks. The turbo route is fun. Nothing like hearing it spool up ;). If the RSX wasn’t boosted i would have kept on the path of boosting the DA.

Collecting parts.

  1. Picking up a Full Race Traction Bar on Friday. BNIB
  2. I have been slowly working on her. I know most people do not believe me, but I miss driving this car so bad, the RSX just does’t give me the same feeling. Although, I do love it to.
  3. Started doing some body work. Engine bay area first. Then I’ll move on to the body once everything else is complete.
  4. Wow has the car scene dropped off over here in N.E.

Here’s some updates:

Lol. Found this…one of those plastic mechanical pencils as a substitute for a broken pvc connector. What it was like to be 17 with your first car haha. Hey, it worked but I’m surprised it didn’t melt.

Bag O’ Crap to be blasted at work

Bag O’ Crap Item, blasted then coated with PlastiCoat

Cleaned up and painted the starter. Still some cleaning to do

Homemade shift knob. I was messing around with the lathe at work, had some Bronze scrap so I turned it into a nice weighted shift knob. Also acid bathed for a Oiled/ Patina Bronze look.

Looking good. I’m really digging that shift knob. Kind of reminds me of a bigger, blank Spoon knob in it’s shape. can’t wait to see more pics of this thing.

what radiator is this looks like same one i have in my car but i dont know what brand it is

It’s a yonaka. I’ve heard nothing but good this from their radiators. It’s embossed on the side of the radiator with the company name if it is.

Since I’m bumped, front suspension is all apart and por 15’d. Full Race traction bar ready for installation later down the road. Still waiting to paint my bay, lots of prep work and no time.

i can vouch for the yonaka coilovers, they are decent…its the only thing ive bought from them so far but i heard their mounts and headers dont fit

love what you did with all the brackets and clamps. this is gonna be one clean machine when its all done:up:
