92BlueTeg's All Motor ITB build and restoration thread

Thanks. I’m trying to keep everything easy to touch up. Not a fan of rust lol

Here’s the suspension update. Por15 or truck bedded certain items. Don’t mind the rotors, it’s just a light protection coat for the rest if the parts. They were straight rust from sitting.

Full race bar! I’m excited about this

(Not done yet! Still needs some tlc. Messing with the idea of a gated shift plate, not sure if ill use it or not. Guess ill see the final product)

Picked this up, it was sitting in the window of a goodwill as I drove by for $20. Couldnt not stop to get it. Fun garage item!

i think that guided shift plate would be coo’l, if you do decide on using it i would consider making a shift boot thats shorter

Yea, Right now it’s just placed over it. It was just to get an idea and check fitment. I’m still making a mounting plate and need to mill it out a bit more and see how it looks. Unfortunately I haven’t been in the shop to work on it

So, what cams and all that are planning on using with the ITB’s and what are their size?

I have a set of crane cams. It’s a staggered setup, stage 1 exhaust. The intake I’m not sure of. I was told stage 4 but crane can’t give me info on the casting numbers. It was bought as a package deal and at the time I was going turbo and figured I wasn’t going to use them

Funny story. This block is going in my Teg! B16a2 balanced and stroked using a b17 crank. Ill provide more info later when I’m not posting with the phone.

Couldn’t resist! Homemade xbar. Not complete but ill be keeping my rear seats with this setup. Free material! Just the time

Just need to make the mounting brackets

^^ that bar looks nice and sturdy.

Were all of the welds ground smooth? I like the look of welds lol.

Either way, you can’t beat free materials.

Nice work on that bar! Looks great!

Thanks! Yup, welds were ground smooth. My welds looked nice, but it’s something a little different and clean. It’s all #4 brushed 316 stainless.

Extremely slow. Lots of things have happened. Weather is becoming nice and work has started again on the Teg. My fiancé and I split up, so I have a little more time and money is going towards the Teg instead of a wedding

Sanded, and truck bed coated the steering rack. Motor is fully out now.

Had some of this made. Going to give it a shot on some random stuff. I wanted urethane paint…forgot to check if nason was urethane before purchase. Really itching to get the bay painted

I’m also picking up a welding trailer tomorrow to start a business with my father. Will post pics later.

Yeah that should be a urethane base… call the place you got it to be sure of any reduction ratio.

Nason is actually owed by DuPont (awesome paint), but it is their Economy Line. Not as many “binders” in the lower line stuff.

I’ve sprayed it and it has held up well enough… It stinks though lol.

Awesome build you have going on here though. Keep it up!

Sweet, yea ill check. Chromobase was $120 a pint, nason was $35. I’ve heard good things for a low line so I figured I would give it a shot. The guy at the counter said you can paint without a hardner…but at $45 for just the hardner I’m going to search online for it cheaper. I usually use napas brand… But they apparently can’t make this color, I call them lazy.

Nice work on the x bar. Nice pics of the B16:up:, how’s it coming along?

Do yourself a favor and de-power the rack while it’s out.

Rack has been de-powered. Haven’t gotten much done on the b16 beside cleaning. I have to take it to be re-honed. If it has to be bored then I’m going to have to try and deal with selling the pistons and buying new ones. It’s mostly forgetting to send it out after work to have someone look at it lol

Messing around at work, made an oem spoiler  going to repaint this, I hate the splash graphic. Maybe make some ITB’s for it too

Here’s my new welding setup/trailer for home and side jobs.

301g Miller Trailblazer gas welder, and craftsman gas compressor among other stuff

gota H series swap in it? LOL

Nason paint blows. Color was as far off as you could be, much more green and lighter. Not even a hint of purple. Hoping to get over there and see if they can remix. Very unhappy about that. Slows the build right down again. Good thing I painted a test piece before anything on the car.

Built this though at work. A/C block off plate in aluminum. Wanted something different looking
