AFTERMATH1312 jasper green

I’m running a hybrid transmission with gsr hydro internals and a ys1 cable case. I plan on using the “gsr” transmission with the b17 turbo build and just keep the b16 with the current lsv.

The mirrors are crap, but since I already spend a lot of time on them I might as well finish the project. I already fixed the bases and all I need to do if work on the rod to move the mirror to a better “functional” location.

I bought a new timing belt for the car since the gates racing was getting close to 30k miles. While I was at it I decide to do the water pump and tensioner as well since they also had the same mileage as the belt. I was lucky to score a greddy timing belt at a great price so I ditch the oem belt I ad bought and pick up the greddy.

woke up early on Saturday and installed the parts on the car. took the time to clean the oil pump since it was a little dirty and also cleaned my timing belt cover.

also help my friend polish his ARC magic intake tube that he purchased.

On Saturday night my friend called me to go for a small cruise and a photo shot on downtown Los Angeles. Here are a few photos of the shots I took and the ones he send me.

Looks great! Everything’s so clean. I might have overlooked it but what header is that?

Its an AN-R header. I believe its been discontinue for q few years already. It sort of has a bishi style design. I thinking on swapping it out and putting back my pro-fab header mean while I restore this header. I wrap it using a black wrap but as you can see the black color started to fade and it now looks white.

I like it. It looks kinda “sidewinderish”. You definitely can’t run power steering with that header huh?

Correct, no power steering or a/c with this header. It does provide a good ground clearance as it sits closely to the oil pan.

Ground clearance > ac/ps

There is much trooth in this. I can’t stand my low hanging header!

Car looks fresh!

lol its true.

I was in the same situation with my itr header. the profab help a lot but this one is way better. I don’t know about performance, but I didn’t feel any difference.

Thanks

Did you do a projector retrofit or just throw in some HID’s in the one pieces? Also that is some damn fine fab work on the lip.

Just hid kit on the one piece. Thanks. Took some time to get it line up perfectly but it came out good.

Got a few items over the weekend.

Itr spec coilovers. Cheap brand but I want to try them out and do a comparison against my D2 coilovers. Both of them have adjustable dampers so I’ll see how the new ones performe. (Matrix brand) if I don’t like tem I can simply sow them out again.

Don’t know the brand of these rear upper control arms. They seem to be SPC, but The bushings don’t have the letters stamp

I also picked up an AP2 cluster which I’m going to install on the da.

Got the ECT module as well.

Quick test to see everything lights up

Started to test fit and trim the necessary section on the bezel to get te cluster mount. This is te part that’s taking a lot of time since I want it to look perfect. Don’t want any gaps or hacked up job.

Carboard template

Decided to clean and paint the itr rear lower control arms

That’s all I have for updates. Will be working in the fitment of the cluster and hopefully I’ll have it working by the weekend. The wiring part will be easy once I finish with the trimming and making the display plate.

Can’t wait to see how the S2K cluster turns out, I’ve been thinking about doing that swap for a while since I feel the digital cluster would be nice for track use. I was also thinking it’d be nice to mount it along with two normal 52mm gauges all in the space where the stock cluster goes. I saw a pic of another S2K cluster in a DA and it didn’t look like there was room, but that was with it centered. Looking at your pic makes me think the cluster could be mounted off center leaving enough room on the other side to put two gauges. Hmm, got me thinking now, lol.

S2K cluster is going to look nice!

I’ll take some measurement and let you know if the gauges will work. I believe your right, if the cluster is moved off center there will be room to install 1 or 2 gauges.

Thanks

S2k cluster! That’s gonna be awesome!

Hijo, Que ases wey . . .

I hope so… Lol

Lol

Here are some photos for you Colin. Not the best ones but good enough to get the idea. I personally think one small gauge would be fine, but both gauges seem to fit in place. I also had a bigger gauge (2.5in I believe).

Thanks Jose! Looks like two 52mm gauges would fit, it’d be tight, but they should fit.

No problem Colin.

The space is going to be tight, but they will fit with no trouble. Maybe some black face guages and paint the silver trim black as well to make it blend with the s2k cluster won’t look bad. Using silver guages kind of throws the cluster way off in my opinion.

Now I want an s2k cluster, lol! The cluster alone is sick but the option to put the gauges there just makes it even better!
