AFTERMATH1312 jasper green

Something like this

Bingo… That will give it a smooth finish and I personally think it will flow better with the cluster. I’m even thinking that my autometer guages aren’t going to look right with the cluster. The good thing is that they are ao close to it. But I’m having thoughts of maybe removing them. I’ll have to see how it looks all together once it’s done.

Right. If I really needed to have a gauge in front of me, I would only put one next to the cluster. Just so it won’t be all squeezed in there.

Here’s the final template I just made. Will transfer this to the and plastic that I will be using to make the face plate on the bezel.

That AP2 cluster is rad! can’t wait to see it finished

Thanks. It should be done by this weekend if everything goes as plan.

Finished molding the plastic face plate for the cluster. As we 2gen integra owners know, our clusters bezels aren’t straight like the 94+ integras or 92+ civics. This means that a simple flat carbon fiber plate is t goin to work that good. Then again some might be happy with it but in my case I won’t. I started wih a flat abs plastic and started to heat it up and form the shape I needed. This will then be fiber glass to the original bezel and then the sk2 cluster will mount to it.

Here’s a photo to show the process (ignore the tapa as it’s only there to hold the face plate)
I still need to cut the hole for the cluster.

wow
I love your work

After seeing this, I want to buy an other DA so I can have an interior again

Keep up the great work

btw did you clear that carbon hood at your house? and what did you use

So you contoured the abs piece to the shape of the back of the cluster bezel? I’m becoming more and more interested in this conversion. Have you started the wiring yet or just focusing on physically fitting it first?

Thanks. Yes I clear coated in my backyard. I used matrix clear and spray 3 coats of clear.

Correct. The bottom part of the plastic is flat. The top part is the one that got a 95± degree bend. Also I cut the bottom part of the bezel to have the cluster facing straight instead of an angle. I will get picture if the back side once it’s done. Haven’t started on the wiring since that’s going to be fair easy for me. I wanted to takle the mounting first since I knew that would take me more time.

Another photo of the face plate with the cluster hole already made. Still need to trim and sand the edge to make it smooth and curved to the cluster.
Note: I’m holding the cluster with my hand since i haven’t done the brackets to hold it in place.

I finally finished the s2000 cluster install. The installation went very smooth and didn’t take more than an hour. Making the dahm face plate was the one taking most of the time. The brackets wasn’t hard at all to make. The look ugly but once the bezel is I talked you won’t be able to see them.

Also had time to installed the matrix coilovers that were itr spec. I was surprised with the way they performed. My d2s are great but this coilovers feel a lot more stiff (maybe the spring rates) again I couldn’t find any info on these.
The only issue I’m having is the axle back section is hitting the itr lower control arm. I’m going to raise the car a little more to see if it clears and solves the problem. If it doesn’t, then ill cut and move the axle back curve more to the front of the rear wheel.

are you sure those coilovers are called matrix?
cause they look quite like kw’s… and I too cannot find any info on matrix coilovers.

btw the cluster install came out great

I need that cluster in my life! Great job man!

Thanks, I also thought they would be kw’s but the spring has TYPE X and a part number. My friend has the original box and he remember it said matrix. I found this article from super street magazine that showed the matrix coilovers.

Thanks man. The wiring isn’t so bad. Making the face plate was a pita. Lol

S2K cluster turned out great! Damm this thread makes me want to put some more money into My teg

I think I need an S2K cluster in my life.

you AP2 cluster looks awesome! im jelly… lol

So does your Speedo work?

Thanks guys.

Rollinmyda- not yet. I order the speedohealer but haven’t received it. It’s coming from Canada so I should take a few days. I did wire up my electronic VSS to my computer so I wouldn’t get the check engine light and atleast my ecu knows the speed I’m going. That’s the only thing I’m waiting for to finish this swap. This cluster also has the theft light on it that I will convert in to a shift light.

Nice! Are you hardwiring it all in or did you make a jumper harness? If you made a jumper harness and you get tired of it you can just send it my way… Haha

Hahaha… I hard wired it. I couldn’t find the female connectors to make the jumper cables. Plus I don’t think I’ll take it off unless I get my hands on a stack display cluster.

Yeah I don’t know if the female connectors for those plugs even exist. I didn’t even think about that.
