R.I.P another g2
i found this on street fire and wanted to share it. just a reminder that anything can happen to any one at any time… and yes the guy in this g2 is lucky. this is by far the worse accident i have ever seen. ive had my car up to 130+, and this wreck was at 100mph. i couldnt begin to think of what the aftermath would be, id be dead this guy is a one in a million guy to live through this. from the looks a wreck in a g2 at anything over 115 to 130 there would be nothing left seriously nothing left, the g2 int his video all thats left is the front seats and what little amount of floor board got riped apart with the seats. and your body may end up a 100 or so yards away…

According to Jon, the car show there is no longer allowed by Home Depot. I guess we can still meet up there tomorrow, but it looks we’ll have to find another spot for future meets. We can find a new spot or just return to our old meeting location at Fry’s. We discuss this further tomorrow.

Mike called me, he toasted his motor. He put it in 3rd instead of 5th at a high RPM.

well i got lucky, i didnt toast the motor. i was just thinking worset case. and high rpm doesnt do it justice. my shift light was on when i shifted. so that means it was somewhere between 6k and 6500k. and it was in 3rd for about 3 seconds before i realized what i had done. pulled over at free scale the idle was cracked out. it drove rough on the way home. i did a valve adjustment on her, and then slowly slowly slowly with a friend driving beside my car to listen to it to tell me to shut down or not, but i slowly took it to red line in 1st, shifted slow, did the same for 2nd, but i shifted hard into 3rd and had it floored. amazingly it ran perfect… i guess i got super lucky on this one…but no more hard driving. till i can get the head of to check for piston to valve contact…
nice one mike. be careful, hard driving is funner. hey do u still have that front strut tower that doesnt fit on ur car?

i’m moving back to austin on the 13th, a little bit early but i need some time to get my apartment furnished and get settled in.
dfdub meets are pretty slow, once a month with only a two or three regulars. looks like the austin crew is looking up though
The next meet will be on Aug 12th. We need to decide on where and when to meet so that I can update and post the August calendar. Do we move it back to Fry’s, keep it at Home Depot, or some other location? And do we want to keep the 6pm time or revert back to 2pm?
Please reply with your preferences asap.
Personally, I like the Fry’s location @ 2pm.

lets meet at the frys location at 2pm and then go look for a new spot to meet. i know there fixing up the building where we hang out but if we need to move theres a massive parking lot at shoreline chruch not even 3 miles down parmer lane from that location

as for the strut bar that doesnt fit… i got to find the bar but i have the mounts. i need to tell you that after getting my motor mounts fixed it did not fit. the engine was sagging more then an inch so i doubt it would do any good…

Well, it’s 5mm and letting me know when and how far it moves.
Plus I’ve been etting little to no sleep.

well i did my rear brakes, new power steering belt, new altinator belt. and i cut my ac compressor belt. and to be honest i cant feel any added power. but i can feel is that the motor accelerates more smoothly then it did. and i also got my pcv valve changed. took me an hour to wiggle the damn thing out…
and i hate to say but i raced yesterday. and it was against a newer sentra spec v i think.off the line i jumped easly 3 to 4 cars. and when we ran from a roll and front bumpers where dead even. and neither of us moved ahead or behind untill 4th then i started pulling pretty hard on him…
ok well i got my chance this weekend to hear and see my car run from 1st to 3rd , and might i say the sp2 sounds crazy sick. i love it. but i did notice the blackish grey smoke that was emitted from my exhaust untill about 1k from redline. judging by sound. but neways i was wondering if upgrading the ignition might help with this. i was think msd external coil. they have one rated i think for 40,000 volts. and awhile back i read a how to for installing an external coil. if i remember right its nothing more then extending the coil pack wires to the mounting location for the external coil… does any one know where this write up is or one similar. pics would be a bonus
As much as I love this, I think I MIGHT get rid of my car. Don’t get me wrong or anything I love it, but I’, going tohave 4 cars on my insurance. I got three right now and am paying almost 300 for all.
It’s not for sure but it might happen.
Plus I got out of surgery and everythings great.
