ok so i got a '91 b18a1 with about 180,000 miles on it and i was gonna slap a T25 TB02 dsm turbo on it. I want to run about 5-8 psi. I’m going for as cheap as possible. My integra is a POS but i want something to have fun in for a daily driver other than my camaro. Here are my questions.
Do i have to run an intercooler (i understand the performance aspects of it)?
- I want to avoid new injectors and pump. So hotter air means less fuel needed. So no intercooler means cheaper setup. I just want to make sure im not going melt my motor.
Will I spin my stock clutch to death?
-It slips a little already but o well.
Is my motor going to EXPLODE??
-i understand that i need to tune it to avoid the boom event that may procede me turboing an old motor. How much does it cost to tune an OBD0 B18a1 computer?
Will my tranny break in half?
-I heard the stock ls trannies suck. Will i blow my tranny if i go powershifting this soon to be insanely powerful motor?
Should I lower my compression ratio with a double head gaskets or something of the sort???
Should I run premium gas with a turbo?
What should my timing be set to?

you have a lot of reading to do. if your asking those questions dont even bother with it. honestly you seem to be wanting a really cheap setup and tuning alone will probably put you over budget.
you will need a new clutch, you will need a aftermarket fuel pump and injectors, your stock tranny is fine, 180 000 miles is a lot to be boosting. did you do a compression test? leak down test? any way id abandon the project if you dont plan to even replace your bearings and rings.
Read more, you must cover the basics.
Intercooler, fuel (injectors, pump) and clutch.
Also that turbo is worthless for your LS.

There has been some bad topics about members going boost on here, but this by far is the bunkest “build thread” I have ever seen. If you are going to trubo your acura, DO IT RIGHT.
You will most deff need upgraded fuel injectors, Walbrol 255 LPH fuel pump, intercooler, EMS and least a stage 2 clutch. As posted before, that T25 DSM turbo is worthless IMO. Get a good ol Garrett turbo.
If this is going to be your “daily driver” that you want to boost then I would do this build the CORRECT way, not the bunk way. If you want to keep the current set up with out injectors or intercooler, then I wouldnt call your integra a “daily driver” as its going to cause you problems in the long run.

lol, just do this…slap a turbo, run the piping stright to your tb, find an FMU, run 7 psi, and then after driving for like idk 30 min(if it lasts) the knocking sound your gonna hear is not your pistons slapping, but simply your engine trying to knock you in the head…

maybe, if this was a POS that you didnt care about, and JUST to see what would happen, then giver, and then tell us i ran fmu, very temperaly with an intercooler, and it work…enough…to get me around until i got my comp in… HAE FUN!

Oh and as far as the clutch, if it cant even hold the power that it has now, what makes you think it will hold if you have more power?..
Get a FMU, a T4 turbo and use the stock injectors. Should make about 600hp to the wheels. Oh and dont worry about that pesky intercooler, its just more weight.

Stock injectors FTMFW!!! and at 600 whp, they use only about 15% duty cycle:rockon:
Running 87 octane gas helps out too. 93 octane burns too slow.
oh and since you’ll be running on 87 octance and your boosted. you’ll want to advance your timing to squeez out some extra power!
and dont worry about the tune, the teggy should handle it. who knows, it might just tune it self:werd:

Yes, eventually. FMU for you or AFC Hack is for you.
