Carbon Fiber Hiro Rep Spoilers made by JDP - Group Buy

For some reason it looks like that last pic doesn’t show the same black paint on the leading/trailing edge as mine. Maybe it’s just the lighting/glare/angle?

I think it’s the glare Colin. It’s looks identical to yours. My JDP front lip is made the same way.

Wow. That thing is beautiful. I almost dont want to get it painted. Was colin the one making mounts?

Yeah I’m just figuring it will be done when John (not jdecks/Jon) emails me about payment so I’m sitting pretty but I may mail him to see if he could give me a rough estimate on shipping.

Hey Jdecks, you don’t live all that much further than I do, how much was the shipping for you?

Yeah, that’s me. I test fitted one style of clamp (it’s really more of a clamp than a bracket) which I don’t want to replicate and am now leaning towards retaining the original Hiro design if possible. Originally I feared that the original design may not be sturdy enough, but after seeing the wing and how it gets mounted I’m not so worried about that as it seems plenty secure. I’ve got some feelers sent out to two machine shops to see about getting them bent on a sheet metal brake.

Forgot to say that i got mine too and it looks amazing, Only thing is i need brackets lol

The struggle for brackets tho!!! Lol

I dont know if this has been covered or not …but does the 100$ deposit come off the final total ? 300$+ shipping -100$ deposit

Yes sir.

Anymore get shipped out? Waiting on email to send more funds…

i got a payment email today =D

so at this rate, we’re looking at like another 2 months then before the rest are finished? im completely fine with waiting to make sure the quality is great, just confused because we were told it was only going to take a few weeks to make the mold, then 2-3 wings a week… its been over 2 months since then and the 3rd person JUST got their payment info… so its taking like at least 3 weeks for 1 wing it seems like.

Seems like 4 poeple got there wings or payment email…

We can all get our wings …but the real struggle will be for the hardwear. Colin i got paypal ready for hardwear when your ready sir

If you read back through there were many disclaimers about being patient and having expectations that things will take longer than suggested. This is a custom part and they are being made as one-off. IMO the quality is worth the wait. I don’t want anyone to feel mislead about the timing.

I’m working on it, remember, I didn’t even start until after receiving my wing (for obvious reasons). I’ve been talks with 3 different machine shops/fabricators, but no noteworthy news as of yet. I’ll update when there’s news - I’m shooting to have the hardware ready around the same time the last of the wings are complete. But like Jon said, this stuff is custom and we’re working with the production schedule of different companies, so this isn’t going to happen overnight.

Awesome thanks for the heads up…

I’ve got some good news for those with a GS wing or anyone who wants to drill into their trunk. It appeared to me that the very back curved edges of the wing follow the same “body” lines as the stock GS wing. I held it to the trunk and eye balled it and it really looked to follow the same lines of reference so I went for it. If you look at the measurements of the stock vs Hiro they are not exactly the same but very very close. To my surprise, I had this thing mounted in about 30 minutes. I used the OEM rubber gasket from the stock wing as a template (reused it as well) to measure the mounting location and shape. It took a bit if trial and error to find the initial fitment to drill the holes, but the gasket was very helpful. I used tape to mark this on the trunk and both gaskets look about the same on each side. Once mounted, I had to use a razor knife to shave off about a 1/16 on the driver side bottom edge to add a safer margin of clearance when the trunk was shut (passenger side was fine) and that was about it. Mounting is definitely as solid as the stock wing!

dayummmm! looks good jdecks!

Saving that last pic. Looks amazing!
