^ Yup, if you want to use the stock holes it will be VERY easy to mount. Although I’m having the clamping hardware made I will likely mount mine the way you did Jon as my hatch also has holes from the original wing. I was thinking of making a metal plate to use instead of the washers you used to try and spread the load very evenly.
wow… excellent find. the community is eternally grateful.
call me silly but ummmm… whats the difference between the gs wing and the other oem da wings? I only know of one design for the oem da wing. also, what did you do about the center hole left from the gs wing? tape? bondo?

Ha true, you aren’t silly. I didn’t know what to call it…I guess oem wing would have been fine. My DA is a GS so I always think of it as a GS wing.
Just sent my payment in ! Ahh im so excited. The spoilers look sick so far!
Woo hoo I’m probley next.
Finally got the initial specs for the brackets to a machine shop to make the prototypes. Pricing strangely enough was MUCH less to opt for a replica of the original Hiro brackets (bent sheet metal) compared to having some square stock milled. I would have assumed the opposite, but whatever. They will make me 4 so I can test fit, show you guys pics and change the design if needed for the final production run. Final pricing will depend on how their process works out which they won’t know until after the make the prototypes. I also need to discuss with them what the cost difference would be for stainless vs mild steel. I will also look at the cost to plate, powder coat, or paint the brackets if we go with mild steel.
Once I have the options figured out I will contact everyone so we can get a final tally on how many will be made and take a vote on some of the options available. I would love to be able to have multiple options so those who wanted mild steel could have that, those who want stainless could have that, those that want powder coat could get that…etc but due to the nature of small production batches I think it’ll only be cost effective if all brackets are made to the same spec.
Feel free to throw some ideas/options out there if you’d like.
Glad to see some updates Colin!
As for me i dont care about anything fancy or being painted/powder coated.
Also have a few buddies who are wanting a set of these for their pancake wings so hopefully they fit well on those aswell ?
Send me pics on my email of the brackets whenever you get them.
Fitment should be the same for these assuming the thickness of the material on the wing is the same or similar. Once I get the prototypes in my hands maybe you could come over and we can test them on any wings you may have in your possession. That is one of my concerns - ensuring that they fit well without a lot of slop but also that they will work on all the wings even if there are slight differences in material thickness from wing to wing.
Regarding how the set screws mar the under side of the hatch… I was looking up hardware and found that there are set screws specifically made to be “conformable”. Basically it’s a normal set screw with a nylon tip on it. I’m not sure if this is something that would be durable/secure enough, fit properly within the tight space we’re working with or even reduce the damage by any significant amount, but I figure it’s at least worth considering. They are a LOT more expensive than standard set screws (nylon tipped would add almost $10 to the cost of a set of brackets compared to standard flat tipped set screws), but luckily this would be easy enough to make optional if only some people wanted them. Here’s what they look like:

Thanks for that info colin. And WOW. I would definetly be interested to get a those screws with a nylon tip. I bet it would cause less damage and at the same time possibly be as affective. But we shall see what happens brotha.
are they ever having another group sale?
Are these still available or how do you order one?
Hope not.
Nope no plans to.
Check forums… there might be someone selling one sometime! thats how i got mine locally
