Carlitos' SoCo build thread
Bwahahahahahah!! Comedy. A list like that definitely requires the use of beer and, stuff…

It is a long list, but much of that stuff should go relatively quick. It will be up and running in time for some fresh CO powder  lol

edit
Did that cute dvd also come in your mail today? I’m sure you were looking forward to that more than the resonator. :D
Haha for sure man! I quit the other stuff though, been clean for a month with exception to a couple break downs.

DVD was just laying around. I love the ending. “I’M a goofy goober! ROCK! YEAH! We’re alllllllll goofy goobers! YEAH! ROCK!”

I worked on the baffling for my catch cans last night. WOuld have been done but I didn’t have a drill. All it needs is holes drilled, brazed and its good to go.

How it will sit

Where the holes for the filter will go, baffling will go halfway down with these as well.

Noice! Looking sharp. How many cans are you running??

I really need to snag some -AN fittings and some braided hose to run mine… as of now I just have the factory cover-breather vented into the atmosphere :frowning:

Damn double-post.

Thanks man! I am running 2 cans, 1 for the valve cover fittings and 1 for the back o the block fittings. I didn’t want to do all this, but since the B20 has the PCV system in the head and the VTEC block has the PCV in the block and now I have neither, something had to be done.

If you want to be cheap use this OEM Honda fitting for 97-01 Prelude. Replaces your freeze plugs and are about $7. Part #s are in the pic. I was going to go with -AN, but I can’t find a set for less than 40. Sadly, it is one of those things I am waiting on from Honda. Ah well.

Those look pretty kick-ass! Your block will definitely breath nicely.

My builder actually installed a plug where the factory breather-chamber was on my B18B and welded an -AN bung on the valvecover. I was hesitant about him plugging the block, but, he assured me that this is how he builds his motors and has never had a venting-problem, so… crosses fingers

While researching PCV systems many others do this as well. I think GE even sells a kits with a plug that fits where the big hole for the black box goes, and uses the valve cover and freeze plug fittings. You should be fine, as long as you have something venting the block itself on top of the valve cover. IMHO, just what I gleaned from the internets. We know how reliable that can be, go check B20vtec lol.

Also, after some quote inspiration from you…

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG:excite::cross::hyper::salute::dance::hi5::cloud9::clap::up::bowdown:

Alright got my baffling done and save for a good cleaning my catch cans are done! For a total cost of $65 and some work for 2 baffled catch cans it’s a hell of a deal.

My soldering sucks. I got the hang of it at the last 2 joints. All joints are very solid, I am wondering how well the ‘welds’ will hold up.

Holes drilled.

Baffled can 1 done! I will cover the solder with Hondabond later.

Too much flux core? The little adapters were very snug, they should hold without the solder but oh well.

Yeah!

Finished, just needs Hondabond up top and a filter.

Updates???

I have soo much to catch up on!!! >.< Looks like you are getting things done Carl. yay!!!

good job! i wish i was handy :frowning:

I forgot my camera and got busy with work yesterday. I’ll grab it today after I am done with errands.

Otherwise we got a lot done! Thanks again for all your hard work Glynn.

Mini! How is life homegurl? So glad to see you posting, I was asking about you the other day! Congrats on the new job, oh hell yeah!

I am most un-handy. Have you seen my soldering? lololol

Just give whatever you have to do a shot, youtube videos help  I am sure you could do it once you sit down and commit! Thanks for the compliment!

Nice work buddy. Now just to get em all fitted and installed, huh? Is that damn thing driving yet?? Chop chop!!

Thanks man! Haha yeah I am so close but so far. Nobody in town has the flange for the collector, so I will have to order that online. This is getting so old lol. I dunno if this will be done by the time school starts. So is life.

Alright got some work done tonight and Glynn was kind enough to come down and put some work in on Monday.

Got the suspension all buttoned up, axles in and brake lines in. Pretty much all Glynn there, I was zombie mode Monday night due to working over the weekend 14 hour days.

And I finally got the fenders rolled!

To start off, I got my valve cover back from Pang and he was very meticulous. He installed and welded -10 AN bungs and powdercoated it red along with polishing all the letters and OEM metal areas. Completely happy with the results. Thanks again man!

Glynn’s fine handy work. Axles and brakes are in, car is ready to drop save for bleeding the brakes and getting the damn resonator done.

Finally brought over the new cowl and head and tail light seals.

Some fender rolling action. Rolled all 4 of them. And this pulled them out a bit, I kind of like it. Now I can finally go as low as I want.

Before and after on the front.

Crease line.

Got muh freeze plug bung installed and one can done. Engine can breathe freely now!

Niiiiiice!! You guys do work. I’m telling you, Road Trip to SLC! :stuck_out_tongue:

I need some new headlight seals… what was the cost on those? And I need a new cowl… bah! It never ends.

Haha thanks man! Yeah those fenders are fresh rolled not even 1 hour ago, had to quit early because I have to work early :frowning:

IIRC Cowl assembly was around 95 and headlight seals were around 20 each. I ordered them over a year ago though, but I am sure on the cowl price.

Time to start saving pennies again…

Oh, before I forget… kicks your red valvecover
Though it does look mighty fresh

 I’ll get a boot imprint sticker just for you! No, not Chuck Norris just Unified!
Thanks man, I like it and have been wanting one for years now. I had a NIB OEM one but sold it for Lover Soul fundage. Sell toys to buy toys you know?

Been in Oklahoma for a week. Hotter than hell there, I think they are approaching their 50th day in a row of 100+ degree heat. Rode horses, milked cows, killed copperheads, partially worked off a 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C race car…you know usual country shit. Thinking of selling the teg to fund the alfa, but I love this car too much.

No updates, I haven’t worked on the car for awhile. But I did get a stellar carbon hatch cover for an awesome price. Had to deal with some bs to get it, but hey. Also decided to post up my matching AGP integra hotwheels or whatever car. Hehe
