Carlitos' SoCo build thread

Hahaha, so I started this reply on the 10th and just got it finished up today
Oh man, so it’s taken me almost a week to make this post. That’s how little time I’ve had for G2IC lately :(. But check out my posts 5529-5931 on this page: http://forums.g2ic.com/showthread.php?159408-What-have-you-done-to-your-Integra-today/page277
Here’s some additional pictures to help you out with the flaring:
Your boy

Bring the brakeline up until it sits at the first line on the flare die:

Flip the die upside down, and insert it into the brakeline:

Next comes flare #1:

Take the die off and get ready to flare again:

Double flare done:

Wham bam thank you ma’am! :):

MrPenny, thanks so much for the instructions! You took the bite out of the project, got it all done last night. After I thought I was decent at bending the lines I went and tried it in-car and kinked one of the lines. Luckily I had a spare set so did it outside the car (highly recommended). Went pretty damn smooth, nice professional looking flares!

So master cylinder is now in! This was one of the things I was scared to do, nice to have it done. No pics, I forgot my camera lol. I’ll snap one of the line I fuxored xD

So I need to return your flare tool and cool little pipe cutting tool. Thanks again for letting me use these!

Pics or ban.

xD I’ll get some pics tongiht

THIS!!! :giggle: glad to hear that brake lines all done. So she just needs a good bleeding then to finish it all up then???

Yessir! All that is on my list before dropping the car is bleed the brakes, get the resonator welded up and installed, and finish the wiring and PCV hoses. Oh snap!

Pics and stupid wall of words to accompany them. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got the master cylinder in, and the brake line cut and ABS fitting installed so I can run the 1" MC. First attempt in car, kinked the line and discarded it as I had another line set. I did practise a bunch on the ABS lines, but still fuxored it up. No pic of the flare, but the flaring tool made it cake, besides having to straighten and rebend the line to fit it on.

Second try. Woot!

Got my engine bay fusebox secured. I can’t take any credit for this, I stole this idea verbatim out of Glynn’s (BLCKACK1) wire tuck thread. All I did was copy it. Thanks a bunch man for the detailed pics and instructions. I wouldn’t have stole the location but this was the best possible place for it.

And ran the alternator wire through this nifty hole. The starter wire is soon to follow. Also the plastic piece is where I am planning on running the distribution block. Should I shield it somehow? I was planning on shielding the 2 ga power wire from the floor to the block, so it doesn’t interfere with the ECU wires. Or is this necessary?

Well, that’s it. Seemed like a decent amount of work at the time lol.

Well, I guess I exceeded my bandwidth. Only a few people post here anyways so let that be that. Ah well.

Goodbye build thread

Boooo!!!

no Carl! why!

Haha, bandwidth is exceeded. So all my pics are dead. Or can you see them? I don’t feel like going through it or creating a new account. Besides, car is about done. I got my -10 AN hose and 4 90 degree -10 AN bends and fittings, along with a vibrant header and exhaust flange. So it should be done soon, no more building

If my pics return I’ll keep updating, but I am not going to do anything to make it happen. School is in full effect, so no time to dick with pics.

Ah man. I hear ya on the no time, but you should open up a Flickr account or something and fix the links slowly. I know other people would love to peep your pictures  Even though no more building there’s still some driving to document! Haha

Yeah I was thinking about that. I have to admit, I enjoyed working on my car and then sharing it with those who would look. The Colorado guys and Unified’s responses definently provided a bit of motivation and inspiration to get it done, plus you guys have been with me this long and the car is waiting on only the resonator to be done to drop on the wheels. I really would have the urge to whore my thread with pics when she is sitting on the wheels I bought and dreamed about rolling on for 5 years now, longer if you consider when I saw them in a Honda Tuning and baller wheel thread so long ago. I would trade for some Garcia Tune Speed Choppies or BBS LM Primmadonnas in a heart beat though :stuck_out_tongue:

OMG I checked my thread and my pics are back up! Yay!

I have a few updates. I stopped taking pics though lol. Hopefully the car will be on the ground sometime this week or next, depends on how many more hold-ups there are.

impatiently waits for updates

xD

I forgot my camera. It is all crap you don’t need pics for anyways.

Got my alternator wire ran. Cut the 2 ga and installed the distribution block, along with 4 ga block to fusebox wire and 4 ga starter to block wire.
Flushed the brake system and bled. Cut some hose for the brake booster to IM hose thingie.
Cut some big ass 8x8 posts so I can drop the car on that and preload the suspension.
Notched the rear plastic for the FET sport strut tower bar in the rear.
Torqued some of the suspension down. Mounted the lover souls. They may be too aggressive in offset, we’ll see how I like it when it drops and gets cambered in. Too much camber to make them tuck and I will have to sell them as that’s ghey.

Cambererer ftw!!!

Nice to see (read?) some progress being done man… sounds like its just about there!

I haven’t touched my hoopty for a few weeks lol.

Word! I got he car sitting on blocks with wheels to preload. I forgot my camera last night, so i’ll just dust this off for later. Car looks sweet, I was worried when I initially put them on the wheels popped out too far. Dropped it another 1" and dialed in another degree of camber and all is swell.

Your car still needs work Unified? I thought all you needed to do was drive it, rinse and repeat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Use photobucket

That is exactly what I am using. I had a bandwidth spike and it killed my photos for a month until it reset. Too many views, I think it may have been my sig on other forums.
