Anyways, you guys should all swing by soon. And I agree with almost everything youve said Carl. I think you SHOULD build it yourself. I think its good experience, and the gratification that comes from something working, and you knowing you did it, is just an unspeakable accomplished feeling.
But on the piston note, I forget that rings are 100 bucks. Shit, I had to overnight mine. So you have a very logical and valid point. If you have the extra 200, go for it. But if you are tight on money, like the rest of us, the used 3 will be JUST fine. Hell, I have a full set of used SRPs in my block. They have done just fine, and I am going to trust them to hold a LOT more.
I never saw the 4th piston though⌠How bad is the damage? And how bad is the cylinder? Have the machine shop check how much piston to wall clearance you have, and will have after getting that nick out. You want a lot more clearance than OEM when applying as much pressure as you will. So just something to keep in mind.
