That is crazy cause i did this swap on my wife’s car, and it is NO WHERE as bright as yours, and also her car is a lot bluer. Does the photo look like the actual thing?
I bought the exact same bulbs as you…

this idea sucks
The LED’s from the same place aren’t bright at all. I just don’t think it’s a worthwhile thing to do. I’m going back OE. LOL.
Chris
As I mentioned somewhere before in this post.
Don’t buy the cheap LEDs. Get the pricey ones.
The cheap LEDs aren’t bright at all.
My cluster came out fine.
I bought the most expensive ones they had on the site. The LED’s are weak in the corners and the tops of the Tach/KMh. I guess I could have bought the wrong ones, but I’m still just not super happy with it.
I bought the Super Star white ones. And for the top of the tach, I got blue LED 74s.
I also put shiney crome sticker up in that white thing too though, so they reflect alot better.
In the corners, do you mean the outside of your car? I would like those tower LEDS.
no I mean the LED’s light output is weak in the top left and right corners of the gauge cluster.
Which sizes and LEDs did you get?
Mine came out fine. The cluster I used (2) #194 (3) #24 (Super Star LEDs), and (2) #74 for the top. (flat top ones)
Hey, whats up fellas…I know most of you are ordering the led’s or bulbs from the internet, but has anybody checked if they sell them at the big Truck Stop store’s? Just wondering…I use to see those bulbs there i thought back in the day…
So i just put in the new blue led bulbs in my climate control but the lights only flicker when switching on the lights. they dont keep a constant beam. the car is still apart and i was wondering if any one had ideas. also, in the climate control behind the temp knob there is this wierd corkscrew shaped thing that the button is attached to. it popped out and i cant get it to go back on the way it was:bang: help?
scratch that. i got it fixed.
Mine looked sweet! Thanks for tip!!!
Green LEDs
Finally got pics
took these with a really nice camera we just bought.
Veru nice!
hey… greenblingteg… i was wondering what bulb did you use for your buttons…
foglight, cruise control, rear defroster, etc… i keep Iming you on AIM but no response…
Hey Greenbling, how did u manage to pry off the cruise control buttons and so forth, i’d like to change those to blue as well as my guage cluster, as well what bulbs did you use? Thanks
I did not change the color of the cruise, hazard, rear defrost, etc… buttons… but i did look at what it would take… I believe that the color in the pic is a little off from actual (probably from my inexperience with the new camera). Integ21 looks as though he has done this so he can probably give you a better how-to…
I posted a link to where i found those type of bulbs here
What do you mean by “pry off”
Do you mean to take the bezel off of the dash…
or do you mean to get to the light bulb…
to change the light bulb in the button just take the button out of the dash piece by disconnecting the wire connector in the back. Then push the button from the back of the dash out…
Once out, when you turn the button onto its side there will be a white circular part… with a screw driver turn it and it will come right out…
however the bulbs dont always determine the color… so at that point you would have to take the button apart and find the color filter and replace it with the color you want. Or remove it and use a colored bulb.
midnite… i was able to make my buttons amber… i bought 3mm Led Bulbs and resistors… i retrofitted with the idea from some guy on this forum… im pretty sure if you use blue 3mm bulbs… they should be the color you want… if you need help… dont hesitate to email me at dannyhhuynh@yahoo.com
Thanks for all da help guys, I may be attempting this on the weekend depending on how much time i got. But I’ll keep you guys posted
good luck man…
Yo, check mine out. Came out good IMHO, besides I added in led arrays on the bottom.
Keep in mind I got the 93 light metallic blue.
Here is a shot with not nearly enough light to even suggest what color my car is, but you may know the only blue the car came in. Sylvania SilverStar power:
Same shit, no fog antiglares, gotta show off. Compare the bulb tones with the streetlight.
A shot that tried showing all the leds put into it over the last two days:
Underpanel glow, each side has a tubed array off 12 leds, 3 sections of 4. Both sides driver and passenger hooked up to the same inverter that has 7 presets for pattern blinking\dimming\glowing.
Here is the very even glow of the gauge panel:
And the somewhat uneven glow of the climate control (too bright, diffuser cannot handle):
What do you think?
