Right now my map sensor isnt hooked up. But I had the no vacumn prob 3 weeks ago. I had my boost gauge but not my turbo kit. I was like there is no way an engine can produce no vacumn. But sure enough the vacumn bung on the map sensor was cracked, not compleatly broke. I glued it back together and that solved the prob.
you should have everything tee’d off the vacuum line connecting the fuel press reg to the mani, not ur map sensor line thats prob #1, second you should shorten all the vaccum lines shorter than you have them now, third double check the vacuum diagram on the hood and make sure everthing is hooked up properly, also i noticed that there is a nipple behind the T/B coupler that is not hooked up, u might want to check that too. and the vacuum elbow you have behind the T/B should be tossed, you really should got to the auto parts store and get about 15’ of vaccum line and start fresh, replace all of them with nice new lines, then you can make sure everything is hooked up properly and that there are no leaks, honestly that is your best bet. and PLEASE get one of those 100 piece electrical connector kits and clean up that wiring!!! that is a mess, get organized!! it will make diagnosing alot easier, trust me
Something else I saw, your wastegate seems to have no room to move in the upward direction. If you rev it a bit it will kick into the chassis and who knows what your manifold/wastegate will loook like … im pretty sure it will break…
Ok I’ll T them all off at the fpr. I’ll get some new, shorter vacumn lines. That nipple you see is just the bolt that has a nut on it to tighten the coupler. The wastegate actually had about 6 inches of clearence in all directions its just the angle of the pic. Plus I have prothane motor mound inserts. I know I need to fix up the wiring. I’ll be sure to get to that. Also one more thing. I might have accidently left that vacumn line unhooked from the turbo to the wastegate. Could that have possibley mad it overboost a little to fry the map sensor? Also the motor has about 82000 miles on it b18b no smoke no oil use.
That did make it overboost. If there is no pressure in the wastegate, then the exhaust has no way to escape to keep the boost level even.

Yes I reshearched for about a year. It’s so bad in there because about 2 years ago I wreked it. And for anything to work it had to be custom made. I have been looking for a new body with no luck. So I just went ahead and turboed this one. I’m still looking around for a body or a car. When I do get on it will be nothing like this.
hey, were you able to retain A/C? Just curious, I plan stripping my A/C before boost anyways…

I took my a/c out 3 years ago when I first got my car. Yeah that is a big intercooler. I’m not sure what its rated to. Thats just what came with the kit. It looks great behind a bumper. The bumper is just sitting on there now.

one thing that I found out when I first turbo’d my ride 2 years ago is that the Stone mountain wastegate’s aka ssautochrome wastegate that looks like the Tial ones stays open. even if you take it apart you can’t get around the way it stays open. I tried the same stuff you did, I even went as far as to ride with a screwdriver to push the valve back down sometimes. I eventually upgraded to a real Tial so be careful. sometimes they won;t open and you’ll overboost and then sometimes they stay open. you can also try sanding the valve but to be honest save your $$ and buy a Tial.
