Your right about the headlights. They suck. I wish I never did get a bodykit. Or those lights. Next project is to go back all factory with a lip. And the turbokit itself cost around 800 and I had to get a few more things. I think it was like right at $1,000 when I got it all on.
did their downpipe bolt on or did it need to be welded?
Its not on yet but yes it needs to be welded the flange is about 25 degrees off. Im still waiting on my map sensor so I can drive it to the exhaust shop.
Ok I got my map sensor today and it still isnt working right. It will crank now but wont rev over 3500 and it has a code 4, 4 flashes then a space, and 13 flashes all together no spaces. Ok I tried my old factory ecu (non turboedit) and the code 13 is gone but I still have the code 4, crank sensor. So I found my prob on the code 13 but what do I need to do about the code 4? I took my ecu to a place here to get the chip moved from the broke ecu to my other ecu.
i’ve already got a problem with the car not reving pass 3500rpm… My uberdata chipping kit got electronically broken i dont know how and now each time I put in the J1 jumper (to activate the chip) the ECU goes in a limp mode and cannot allow to rev over 3.5k. If i take the jumper out and reset ECU the car would work like new
But you can’t do that because your running 450cc injector, hope you’ll solve your problem and maybe mine cause it seems we have similar problem…
Crank sensor is inthe distributor.
Yeah I jus took it off and I couldnt spin it by hand. The bearings was squeeling when it was on the car. I put another one off a junk integra I had. I’m still waiting on the electronic place to put my turboedit chip into my other ecu.
that huge intercooler dont look too bad at all but god forbit you get into even a fender bender you cut out your whole bumper!!! that kit looks like a nightmare ssautocrap is right but good luck and keep us updated
any turbo kit that isnt Greddy, HKS, or Turbonetics is a pain in the ass to put on, it is a constant battle, but when u take off and blow off, it makes it all worth it
^^^^^^very, very, very true :werd:
yeah I have already come to the conclusion that a need another wastegate. It hung open on me one day. I lubed it up but I saw where someone else had the same prob and it wouldnt go away. Yes the kit is HORRIBLE, very bad mistake. But I now have a new job and soon as the first check comes in im ordering a jdp lip to go with my 92-93 front bumper I have. Also going with ww sides and rear cover. Hopefully by summer I’ll have something nice.
Don’t let these guys tell you what’s nice in the looks department. Decide for yourself
It really does look bad. All cracked up and shit. But not for long.
I am putting the same intercooler on my car right now and we tried hackin the bumper at the line just below the bracketry for the bumper cover… it hangs REAL low … even pass the body kit… we are going to do something like what you did but I wanna see what it looks like on your whip with the bumper cover on… got any pics of that?
Yeah here it is. It sits about even with the bottom of the bumper.
well at least you learned. now hopefully we all can help someone to not make the same mistake with those ssautochrome/xs power/ebay crap.
i guess if you must salvage what you have, make sure the turbo is braced so it doesnt put weight on the manifold, and that you have flex pipe so the exhaust doesn’t put weight on the manifold either. this should extend any life left in it before it cracks. as far as the turbo, hmm, maybe get it balanced for 50bucks before it spins itself to death? braces should help keep the housings from cracking too. wastegate, chuck that pos. welp good luck!
I meant the body kit, the ssac is about 80 percent good. It needs a few things addressed. But I was talking about the bodykit. Someone commented on it earlier in the thread. I have the manifold braced and also a flex pipe in the exhaust. And a new tial wastegate is on the way.
Just wanted to let everone know how its going. I keep having a problem with the manifold cracking where the wastegate bolts up. I got it welded twice and its still cracking at that weld. But I havent took it off to get it welded good. I plan on going to the exhaust shop tommorow and getting my dump tube roughted into the exhaust and getting it welded one more time. I thing the extra support from the dump tube should hold it in place and keep it from cracking. But other than that I have had no problems. I made sure it was braced good where the turbo mounts up at the bottom. I had to rods welded from the turbo flange to the exhaust runner flange.
You get what you pay for.
i think it would be a good idea to save your money and get the spoolin performance manifold and downpipe combo…my .02
