Finally turboed !! (pic inside)

Well, after having all the parts for a year now in my baseman, i went to my friend’s garage and we tried the best we could to give my beast something she was wating for so long: BOOST. we started at 11pm, slept at 6am and continued at 2pm until 11pm. We were all newbees at welding so it was time consuming…

The setup is
XS manifold ( yeah i know, but it is braced)
XS turbo T3
3 inch downpipe
450cc DSM
Uberdata

I had to unbolt one coupler because my ECU decided to give up on the chipping job. Im finding a new ECU and will be tuning the car with my wonderfull LC1, spring is set for 7 psi, i’ll let you know what it give. Right now, i can hear the spool really loud, what a sensation !!

Awesome job. Let us know how long it lasts.

^^^^^:iagree:

still got ps?

absolutely, but the cooling PS lines does not exist no more, PS inlet and outled are shorted but no issue, i think these PS coolant lines are useless (they are off my car since a year now)

Nice work. Do you have more shots (other side of rad support) showing how/where you cut to run the IC pipe? I’m looking to do the same thing.

u could run it like i did, check my f/s thread, while ur at it, buy my car

sweet job dude!! i got the same type kit on my EM1 (99-00 si) i’m about to get a T3/T4 turbo from them. does she pull hard as shit? how much boost you running?

Hum i dont really know what your’re taking about the IC pipes on the passenger side, the compressor is on the driver side !

As for how hard it pulls, i aint got my ECU so i’m still running open intake !! no boost for now, im trying to get over my school work. I plan to get it done during the weekend! I’ll let you know guys :naughty: :naughty:

looks tater, a vid would be nice when you get it all finished up. BTW, rob i’ll be on AIM or yahoo in a bit, hit me up for the pics i took. later

no prob for the vid

Yeah I guess I wasn’t too clear on that. I meant the comressor side, but on the inside of the engine bay where the compressor is. I’m curious how you cut the hole to get the IC pipe to come through the front of the rad support. I’m planning on keeping A/C and washer tank so I was looking for an alternative as to where to come through.

well you can always look on one of the pix (under the car, showing the oil return tap) the compressor is pointing to the block. There is a 180 bent that goes just a few inch next to the rad support. we cut a hole in there, and the pipe points right to the front of the car. Put a 90 bent and it goes to the IC, really simple !

Thanks typeR. I didn’t notice that in the picture. Compton, from the looks of your picture, it looks like you removed the washer tank. Thanks for the suggestion, but in the climate up here, I can’t do without it in winter.
