got main ingredient , what else ?

ok i’ll have soon in my possession garret t3-60, manifold, wastegate, bov, IC and piping… but nothing as fuel and timing management yet.
I would like to keep stock fuell pump and injector, is it possible?

If not, what else do i need for Low Boost application ?

i was wondering what else do i ABSOLUTELY need
ei. fuel pump, injector, chipped ecu (uberdata for fuel and timing)
etc… I know money is always the thing to optimize but i know
reliability ISNOTEQUALTO cheap setup

I’ve red the turbo guide and bravo, very nicely made up.

SO what do you have for me guys?

Go uberdata for management if you are OBD1, TurboEdit if you are OBD0.

Need help with either let me know…

my car is a 93 integra, so i assume it is a obd1 pr4 ecu.
I saw you are selling a soldering kit to chip ecu ?

tell me, in short, how Uberdata work exactly?
can i completely tune the car myself with this program ?
(i dont have a wideband sensor)
what are the possible tunable parameters with uberdata?

im sure this is a piece of cake but need to be reassured about this part of my turbo project.

oh and by the way, do i need bigger injecteor/fuel pump ?

manual boost controller
Oil feed line
Oil return line
Oil pressure gauge
Boost gauge
EGT gauge
Tapped oil pan (or part to tap yours)
I had to get a fan for my setup also because of clearance issues

Do you have all the couplers and clamps for the charge pipes?

Your stock injectors are already at 90% capacity so you are going to be severly limited if you don’t go with bigger injectors. You can stick with the stock fuel pump for low boost but you will probably shorten its life. I got a Walburo fuel pump for $85 so I just went ahead and did it for peace of mind.

Heres my running list of parts for my project.

Uberdata (or TurboEdit) is an application you run on your PC that allows you to change Honda fuel and timing maps on a stock ECU that has been chipped. There are a few other things in the app but thats basically it. You can download the app and run it on your pc to see if its something you can handle. If not, you can look for a local tuner to help you out. To use Uberdata you will need a chippable ECU, the chipping kit, a pc to run the software and a way to burn chips.

To tune your car when its all together you will need access to a Wideband O2 sensor. You can buy one or you can use one from a local tuning shop, one shop here in town charges $50 to use their wideband.

go Uberdata…the Best thing sice sliced bread…w/ an Lm1( wide band O2) and Romulator ( can’t forget that)

Chunk summed it up well…

Uberdata is complete fuel and timing adjustability. There are also things like 2 step / 3 step (launch control and full throttle shift), nitrous scripts, etc etc.

You will need at least a chip burner and your own (or borrowed) WB 02 sensor to tune it in, or find someone local to help you.

You can buy the chipping kit from me and socket the ECU yourself or I can do the socketing for you and send the ECU back ready to go.

woooo i couldn’t get more interesting informations ! super guys.
and yes i have all the lines and charge pipe. Only thing left is injector, fuel pump and chippable ecu. I’ve red about every post on g2ic and even though ive never touched boost i feel like i know a lot. the only thing that worries me is tuning myself. I’ll read a bit more on uberdata to get it to there,

and yes xeno, ill probably ping you for your chipping kit, i got some skills in soldring.

By the way, does it comes with the harness to burn the chip from the pc
also , is there any datalog on uberdata script ?

thaanks

you cant burn a chip directly in the ECU

you will need a separate burner

i do have a datalogging cable that you will need to use the Uber datalogging features and if you plan on tuning it yourself.

buy an ostrich(rom emulator) from moates.net. it saves soooooo much time tunning uberdata.

Get 450cc’s and a basemap and kit from xenocron like me! No tune yet but Feels decent and I have faith.I also have stock fuel pump. The only time I have issues with that is when i adjust my vtec engagment via spoon vtec controller. If i set vtec to kick in earlier than stock car just boggs and needs more fuel.Im sure you wont have to worry about that though being that youve got an Ls or w/e pr4.Stock fuel pump should be ok for awhile. But definatly spend the 60 bux on 450cc injectors and wire them in.Easy as pie.Ive only researched boost for about 2 years now and Ive done it all myself.Im 20 years old.Oil return line, tapping oil pan correctly, and notching your crossmember for downpipe clearance were probably the major concerns you should look foward to facing with a Gen2 integgy.Good luck.

nice to hear about it ! yes, mine is a stock LS.

you’ve gotten the basemap already programmed or you did it your way ?
how much time did it took you to install all the kit and turn ignition on ?

oh and i forgot, as i see, you can’t burn the chip without buying some burning hardware for like (50-200 $ !!) is that it ?

Yes, the Willem Burner on Ebay goes for like $43…

I use the Xtronics, goes for $150 on http://www.xtronics.com/

and i use the BURN1 on moats.net, it was $85.00

just have xenocron burn you a basemap then chip your ecu yourself with the kit or send him yur ecu to do it.All in all after months of collecting parts it took me about a month to install and fit everything. Its like a big automotive puzzle. You think youve got it all downpath then you come across another problem.I didnt really rush anything and I took it 1 section at a time.I started with the 450ccs and wired them in after that I did all my intercooler piping up to the two layered firewall under washer reservoir. Then threw on mani turbo wastegate and matched intercooler piping to compressor.I then did my oil lines and had my oil pan tapped.Installed boost gauge(very simple) then finally installed my completed ecu.Car started right up.I then played with idle etc.And last but not least drove my car to a local familiar exhaust shop where they installed my dumptube routed into exhaust downpipe and charged me $50 to notch and weld reinforce my crossmember the right way. Now just waiting for the next problem.

seems like your doin good now

On boost you will never be doing good…Ive realized that now that I joined the darkside.I now know why everyone told me not to turbo my honda.I was so stubborn and now that Im used to the extra speed all I really focus on is the problems.I hate the fact that I know any day in my car could be my last.Boosted cars are like the hott girl youre dating. You never thought you’d get her but now that you did you’re afraid she’ll betray you everyday! So what parts have you aquired so far?Are you really serious about boost? If you need any help I’ll try to answer some of your questions. Not that Im a guru but I know a lil bit.

i’ll run the minimum wastegate boost possible and try to tune it perfectly , thats my goal for summer. i wish i can have 180 whp. i think that is acheivable wihout trowing my engine to the dump. im waiting for the oil pan and sender hoses and fitting.

im wondering why are you so affraid of blowing things up !
arent you happy enough while the bost needle raises as you get a slap in the back and trow in the next gear and hear a nice swooooooshhh !!!

Of course at first I enjoyed the kick into the seat and the blow off valve but its just like any other hobbie in life…You love it at first, then you get used to it and its just there, then you get tired of it and all you see are the bad things.Im afraid of blowing something up because any modified motor just might be the one to take a shit.If something does go I know its not going to be a cake walk to fix.Ill either be changing a headgasket or replacing ringlands, valves,or seals. In either case Id guess the head is coming off and money is going in.Lots of it.Theres no 100% safe way to make a car faster so just make sure youre ready for the worst.Expect the worst, hope for the best.Thats my motto.Seriously though, dont exceed 8psi unless you’re ME! haha. You have the big t3 right?.60 .63?I have a small T3.Its not that bad but Id def turn down the boost if i had a t3/t4.Upgrades are always something to look foward to with turbo. You comprehend the pull in your car and its no longer enough so once again you want more dammit! I think Im going to go take a ride in moms mitsubishi outlander.Maybe that’ll help. :giggle:

hehe i agree with everything you’ve mentionned.
mine is the t3 with .48 exhaust and .60 compressor
do you have the basemap on your cpu ? because i’ve made a very big step in uberdata tuning last night, spent a few hours on learning what and how to tune with the programm.
at what rpm do you have your boost kikin’in?
