Ive been looking to source a new IACV for my DB1, and having 0 luck finding any of the 2 OEM options (36450-PM6-A01 or 36450-PP4-E01). Is there any known aftermarket part that is known to work well? or someone who knows who i can contact to get my hands on an OEM one? Any advice would be very apprciated.
[Before anyone asks, i did indeed take it off and cleaned it following the guide. It did not work]
Wires & plugs replaced 2 months ago with ngk wires & ngk copper plugs. Ignitor & coil replaced last month when i rebuilt distributor. Both saw improvement but issues remained.
Vacuum lines were replaced with silicon ones by original owners grandson. I havent touched them personally, but were done in that last 5 years.
One out of every 10 or so times i go to work, it takes longer to start, but still starts. Was the same before i put in a new starter when the original finally failed
Ill see when i can. Im just really tired of the rough idle. Its the only issue my car has and its driving my nuts. Ill do anything at this point for a smooth consistent idle
This just popped in my head: I remember this could also be a symptom of leaky fuel injectors, but it was rare. Have you tried running a fuel injector cleaner? I’ve been using Gumout Regane. I was a proponent of Lucas upper cylinder lubricant but recent reports from people have suggested it doesn’t do anything. It could be a cheap test.
I’m wondering now if it’s that resistor pack issue that I had on my 91, because it did exhibit weird idle before hardcore failed. But I don’t know whether that was the actual issue.
BTW, I also had a rough idle issue when my head gasket was on its way out. Have you checked your coolant lately for signs of oil? Mine was very obvious though via a WET sparkplug.
You’re reminding me that I really need to look into that digidizzy system (as much as I hate removing mechanical products for computers). I have the feeling that it solves problems such as this.
They work great. Ive personally spoken to the guy who makes them. At the moment it only supports the obd 1 & 2 cars with obd0 support not on the horizon.
