Thanks!

As of right now, I am going to the exhaust shop Friday to get the DP & Mid pipe flanged. Tuning appointment is set for Monday morning. I’ll get some pics up over the next few days.

So as always, plans don’t always work out…lol. Had a few scheduling set backs. Progress in the mean time:

Finally got around to replacing my POS tank!

Bay is coming back together.

Sanded down to the raw aluminum and did some test polishing. Needs some more work but I think the results will decent.

Still trying to make it to the exhaust shop so I can get to the tuner. I’ll keep everyone posted.

keep strokin that pipe!

LOL

Updates:

I finally made it to the DYNO with the new setup.

Good and bad. The bad: The boost solenoid would not respond to the ecu settings. It turned out that my ECU was not setup for Boost control. When I Purchased it, I was told it was and I really did not think to check. Unfortunately, we couldn’t adjust the boost .

The good: We were able to tune on the Wastegate Spring. It ended up putting down 206 wheel @ 8.6psi on a DynoDynamics Dyno…not too shabby. Looking at another 70 hp for the next tune once I get the correct pins in place. This turbo rocks!

Nice wait until 15psi. That turbos going to wake up.

damn that engine is pretty freakin secure. nice

So what made you opt for the gt2871r over the gr2860rs

Went through the whole build… nice detail reminds me of my accord build, keep up the great work!!

A buddy of mine recommended checking out this turbo. He has it on his Miata and makes 300whp. I wanted to see if I could make use of the slightly higher top end and gain back some of the spool time with the .48 housing compared to the 60rs. So far I really like results…cannot wait to turn the boost up though. I also was looking for a slightly used Turbo to save some cash…I found the 71r was a little easier to find and at the same price.

Thanks Man!

From last week’s tuning:

Absolutely loving my new garage so far. Made a bit of progress. Thanks to my girlfriend for the new work bench and cabinet!! (B-day gift from June)

Took some quick pics on Sunday. I will post some new engine bay shots soon. I finished the charge pipe, got some goodies cleanup up a few things. The car will be at Wekfest NJ this coming weekend.

Nice build!

Thanks!

full size radiator and turbo! thats nice, u could run ac with that set up couldnt you?

Yeah it’s def nice to be able to run the full radiator. I believe this setup is AC ready as well.

Some pics from Wekfest East:

Thanks. The first setup was a TSI Kit. It had a T25. Put down 180 at the wheels. Lip is JDP.

It’s been a few months since I’ve posted. Happy New year.

Thanks for all the kind words on the build. The car is now put away for the year. Took a few pics in Late November. Got some plans for 2013 and a photo shoot planned for the Spring. I’ll post pics of progress once I start.

Did some work on my Subaru this fall. Timing belt, water pump, Head Gaskets, gaskets/studs, valve seals, idlers, tensioner, belts.
