Long build in process.

I can always appreciate the balance between function and form. Those are some nice numbers.

Thank you sir… If we get a break in the weather, I’ll gladly take it out for a spin and really get a feel for it.

My opinion was definitely re-affirmed that the tune is one of the most important parts of any build!

Nice numbers! Must be a blast

Thanks Carl.

It was really a fun experience. Both the tuner and dyno owner complimented the car multiple times…

“Damn this car is shiny and smooth! No orange peel anywhere!”. Which is a lie, it’s there lol

“This is an awesome street build”

“I love the torque-band!”

Etc.

But I think my favorite was:

(before the tune)
Tuner: How does she run so far?
Me: Runs good… no major problems.
Dyno owner: Good! There’s nothing worse than someone bringing us their pile of shit, wanting us to fix it…
Me: Uhh… well I’m glad I dont fall in that category!

This may have re-lit the spark for my liking of this car… I hope this winter passes quickly.

Good to hear!

This warms my heart (cough… wheeze) if you were to leave the G2 Scene we’d only have Welfare to look out ffor us :uhoh:

Hah… I’ll be around regardless to spread my mis-information.

But yeah I’ve been jones’ing for warm weather… have a few things that I can’t wait to install!

Very nice numbers. glad to hear you felling reinvigorated in this project. Im sure most of us would agree that you would be highly missed

+1 for spingtime. even thought I have officially put the teg up for the winter :giggle:

As have I… Car cover and a tarp for additional protection.

Glad to see you checking in sir!

unified112 Hey man I finally got my car all done as far as the motor goes. Got dynoed too… I’ll have to make a build thread some day and upload some pics. Have you done anything else to your car lately?

Nope. It’s being stored for the winter season. Too damn cold to work on anything involving the car.

Nice numbers for a fairly simple set up
Sounds like you hit the numbers game on the dyno though! (It starts a slippery slope :whisper: )

Yeah thanks man!

I was going for something a little more powerful than stock, yet still mild enough to be stout and reliable… I think I hit pretty close to where I was aiming.

As you say, the number game is a pain in the ass… but all along I had the goal of 180whp so achieving that makes me happy. Going from 125whp on the first pull, to 187… I’m excited to drive it and feel the difference because, up to this point, I’ve been a bit disappointed with how it has felt.

Your build is looking great as well…

Nothing wrong with that powerband, its probably the most usable and fun to drive for a daily. And no doubt it will be reliable.

Hmm… I think I’m going to install the mudflaps again.

So that’s:

Mudflaps
Balljoints
Shift boot
Door-lock actuators
Dye/install spare cabin-carpet
Re-vamp p/s delete

And a few other misc things that I’m sure I’ll think of. Hopefully I can decide on a decent front camber kit to replace my current setup.

/run-on-rant

From reading your last post it looks like you don’t like your camber kit, I was just going to ask you about that. Anyway are you going to get another “control arm” set up like the one you have now or one like the ingalls kit? I am trying to figure out which Ima buy, leaning towards skunk2 though

Unified did you say your brother or you paints cars? I need a bid on painting mine.

dude all us Utah guys need to do a meet man… It’s always nice seeing Utah guys on here. That’s some sweet dyno number man… Congrats!!! Clean looking car too. I need to get the rust and off and paint my car.

i just went through your entire thread… nice work

1 question… are you on a stock fuel set up? i didnt see anything about fuel mods…
