I agree with all of the above! But would agree moreso if your own thread was updated… cough
match the rear camber to the front, go half an inch lower and call it a day…lol jk wish i woulda pulled it out and took some pics
I’ll try get some pictures in the next few days for ya!
A small addition that I am quite happy about… It’s a 10" in a 15" x15" x 12" box. Which should leave some space in the trunk!
Nice! IMO a 10" is the perfect size sub. I had a 12" in my Integra originally then changed to a higher quality 10" which is now under the passenger seat of my Subie It’s amazing how long high quality audio components last.
Indeed!
This isn’t a competition sub by any means, but it also isn’t an entry-level unit either.
Just to hear it I hooked it to my brothers Xplöd amp… I love it! It had a nice and tight sound. After hearing it, my brother wants to abandon his two 12" Kenwood subs and get a single 10" lol.
I’m not going to go crazy on the stereo system as that crap can add up all too quickly. But this will be a solid setup to get some bump in the trunk.
Can’t wait to get this thing lowered!
Wheels look good on there.
Looks killer man. You think you’ll have it stanced the way you want it in time for the meet? It’s gonna be sweet to see it in person.
Thanks guys…
I’m hoping to have it all buttoned up by then… I need to get a hold of Jason at Innovative Garage and see if he can get me taken care of. We’ll see!
Nice. Do you know if they can do corner balancing there?
Indeed they do… Corner balancing, race alignment, street alignment… anything suspension related, they get it done. Fender rolling etc as well. Really good guys over there.
That’s awesome. Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely hit them up for my corner balancing/alignment needs.
Not much of an update, but I got these bad boys lined up and installed. It was kind of a bitch as the door panel doesn’t allow much room… Had to put the actuators as far IN the door as possible. I haven’t wired them yet, but did test to make sure they were functional. I’ll hook them to the alarm brain when its not raining on me lol
My next main goal is to get the ball joints installed so I can get an alignment… Rather than dick with the ride height myself, I’m going to install the joints and camber kit and give the car to a buddy of mine.
Innovative Garage is a local family owned shop that does awesome work… I figure since an alignment is needed anyway, I’ll have them adjust the suspension and get the car sitting right.
With only three weeks left until the meet I’m hoping I can get it squared away. Even if I’m not ready to go by then, it’ll be nice to have the suspension all dialed in!
Aww shit. those wheels look good man.
So today was quite a pain in the ass… But it is done!
The plan was; ball joints, camber kit, synchromesh trans fluid swap and re-install the upper strut bar.
Before getting to work, I liked this angle:
Slightly in need of replacement:
Old vs New… No circlip, this is normal right? The part number on my OEM packages are what are listed as the current part number for our year.
New unit pressed in. Don’t mind the brake dust shields, they were in bad shape when I got the car.
I had had the correct sockets and an 8" c-clamp… No workie. Hand-crank c-clamp FTL. Even with a box-end wrench on the crank I couldn’t get enough leverage to press the new one in. Really need a wrachet-drive clamp.
In the end, BFH to the rescue!
That is actually where I finished. After helping a buddy do a valve job in addition to the work on my car, I was finished once I got it all back together. I’ll do the trans fluid with my next oil change. The strut bar can go on whenever I get a second.
Now that is out if the way, I’m ready for the alignment
BFH method FTW!! lol
Found a coolant leak recently… When I initially saw it, coolant was resting on the headgasket, front-passenger corner.
Fearing a head-stud being lose, I dug into it. Coolant pressure test showed a 4psi leak over a two minute period. Giving it time, I finally found the issue. The threaded coolant-fitting on the side of the head was basically hand tight. After some light teflon tape and s few minutes, it was cured! Holds pressure like a champ now.
I also got the synchromesh fluid in the trans… Still grinds (which I entirely expected) but it does so noticeably less.
Tomorrow is the Import Spring Meet. The local Honda forum UtahHondas.net is putting it together. 30+ sponsors, from local grass roots companies up to AutoZone. 400+ cars expected, should be good times!
Naturally I had a couple things to do.
Thorough wash.
Polish/seal.
Detail interior.
Detail exterior.
Install mudflaps.
I really need to do the engine bay, but I don’t pop my hood at car shows, so that can wait.
I’ll do a quick wipe down tomorrow in the afternoon, and I’ll be sure to take the Canon XSi along!
Looks so good man. I’m jealous of how nice the body lines up
That is a very outstanding paint job if I do say so. Is that horizon grey? If not what color grey(color code) is that, and what year car did it come off of?
