Long build in process.

Wow that is great! Thsoe headlights look fresh! I have been needing to do these to mine, one of the fogs is dim. Researching it, the problem is because the little metal rusts so the headlights need to come apart. I am too scared to take them apart because of breakage. Can you give me an easy write-up even an idiot can follow? Tempted to just ship them out or something for the work, it scares me lol.

I love the pic of the test fit with the body panels, looks like something just rolled off the showroom floor circa 1992 xD

Hahah thanks again for the compliments man. I can shoot you a write up if you’d like… does the email in your profile work for that? Just gimme a couple days and I can throw something together.

I put a small how-to together… its nothing crazy in-depth as it is actually a pretty easy process. The thought of it is much more daunting than actually doing it. As long as you have patience and common sense you’ll be fine pulling them apart.

I can either post it here or just send you the Word document. Let me know bro.

Nom nom nom, gotta love some fresh paint!
What’s next on the list?

Too much to list lol.

  • Install and align body panels
  • Color-sand and buff
  • Finish interior installation; mainly door panels

Then its a bunch of small stuff…

  • Buy/install lower ball-joints
  • Paint the catalytic converter with some high-temp paint to prevent rusting
  • Mount oil pressure gauge
  • Paint Rota Slipstreams & mount my rubber on em (yes, Rotas… Shoot me)

And then the most important part… TUNE! The basemap I have is great, and the plugs indicate a good AF/burn, but naturally I need to get it on the dyno and fully tuned.

Thanks so much man! Hopefully this takes the bite out of the project. You can email me at cyoungiv at G(angsta)mail dot com. Careful, I am slow at responding my email lol.

Hell yeah on the build! Rota’s aren’t bad at all man. There are a few Rotas and drags I would rock on my car, slips being one of them. What color are you painting them? Black? Bronze? Gulp…red? :stuck_out_tongue:

I would be so down for a meet and photoshoot once your car is done. Times like this I wish I would have kept the db8, take a long cruise with the wife and kids in 2 db’s. Ah well, not the time.

I’m torn right now on the color… They’re actually my brothers rims, two are stripped and ready for paint, the other two are a dark bronze. I’ll either paint the other two to match, or paint em all white… But a local buddy just put white slips on his grey/blue DA so, I’ll probably do the bronze… don’t want to have a clone out in the streets lol. The rims are SUPER clean though… No rash at all, they literally look brand new. I figure they’re in better condition than my LS Mesh wheels that have been through two Utah winters.

I sent that write-up off just now, let me know if you have any questions or anything.

Hell YES on a photoshoot… you CO guys need to made a trip this way

Get this done already I think we are the only active G2 guys in utah now… well beside dee but his cars in bidding too

Seriously… there aren’t many of us out here. Besides, you say my car is a myth anyway lol

But no matter how fast I get it done I need to see Mr. Green… need to save my pennies for that costly trip.

Haha, I feel ya. It’s always a never ending list of things to do. That’s alright though, keeps us interested in the cars! But heck yea, I can’t wait to see it when you’ve the body all sorted out
If you’re looking for some cheap OEM balljoints, hondapartsnow.com has some for $35 vs $48 at hondapartsunlimited. You just have to look under EFs, for some reason it’s cheaper for the Civics then it is Integra’s. I bought a back up set when they first put’em up on sale a while ago, and probably will buy another set just for the heck of it, lol. The PN is 51220-SK7-013 for reference. Here’s where dey b: hondapartsnow

That guy used to live out here, always heard good things about him

AND nothing wrong with rocking Rotas. If someone wants to hate on your choice, they can buy you a new set of wheels, ha!

people hate just to hate. i had rota’s and not even the montreal potholes were able to destroy them. im talking about 5" deep 2 foot wide potholes. potholes are serious around here.

Did he? I didn’t know that… but yeah he has done tons of builds and has proven himself to be an amazing tuner. Just need to save some dough to make a visit.

The wheels will work for now… they’re cheap and clean so, I’ll be happy. Though id love a set of genuine CPRs

Thanks for the words of cinfidence guys… hopefully I’ll get off my ass and handle the rest of the misc stuff that needs done.

Edit
Good lookin out on the part numbers as well, I really need to get those replaced before I do much of any driving.

Haha Rotas are just as round as the more expensive wheels. I am at the point I would trade my wheels for steelies if I had a fresh paint job.

When you said you were making a trip to see Mr. Green I thought you were talking about Amsterdam or something.

Hehehe… that’d be Mr. GreenThumb! No need to go to Amsterdamn for that… cough

Nah, Cortney Green… the drag racer/engine builder/tuner/all around ass-kicker.

But yeah, like you said in your thread… I’m just ready to drive it. The wheels are an afterthought at this moment.

Ahhh Ok. Totally missed the mark :stuck_out_tongue:

And hell yeah on actually driving it. Wheels are wheels, you can always bolt on another set later. WHo cares if they are not uber rare? Besides, some of the knock-offs look really good and again are just as round.

Hey im still an active member! ha i need to get another g2 though.

Haha, nevermind. I just looked through the local forum and he just used to come out here and race a lot/tune. No problem on the PNs either, can’t ever have enough new parts laying around

AYO!

GTFO!!! Hahaha.

Lol fun stuff. I wonder if you did some more work with the fresh body panels, and if so why you haven’t taken pics.
