Long build in process.

Anxiously awaiting an in-car vid! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s awesome your uncle complimented your car, hopefully my uncle with the Mustang does the same we’ll see!

Seems like you are falling for your car again, this is good…very good. I am happy for you!

I do agree with Glynn, you should do something dark. Maybe a flat black or dark bronze, that’s what I am feeling. Plus the bronze would add a little positive contrast, not that I have any clue about style or matching or anything lol.

Photoshoot soon? My next teg is secured, I can have the wife drive the DB2 and me drive the DA with PR8 B20 love. I definently want to meet up with you sometime.

Yeah yeah, its growing on me again lol… I swooped up that Neuspeed front/upper strut bar today in the classifieds here… I’ve been wanting one for ages.

As far as rim color I’m kicking around the idea of either a dark blue, a gunmetal/silver, or a bronze. If done in the right tone, bronze would look sick… but if done in the wrong tone… ick lol. I guess the same goes for any color. My brother keeps telling me to do white… grr… too many damn choices!

I’m sure yours is going to sound great as well… after you get the flanges all squared away :stuck_out_tongue:

Photoshoot? Hellz yeah! Let me know when and where! A buddy of mine has a nice camera, we’re gonna get together and do a shoot of my DA and his BB6 Prelude. Just gotta tie up some of the loose ends I have on my ride and I’ll be set.

Wheels and balljoints are the high priority as of now… the oem civic hubcaps with bald Blizzak tires just aren’t working for me lol.

As far as the in-car vid… hmmm… I’ll see if I can work up some kind of mount for my handi-cam… otherwise it will be a shitty cell vid, and we all know that those are horrid. We’ll see what I can come up with. Maybe I’ll just set my camera down in the middle of the street and do a fly-by. Lol.

Why didn’t I think of dark blue? I really like that color that comes on some of those work (or was it volk?) wheels. Mag blue or something, looks freakin tits.

I feel you on the nuespeed, I always eyeball them but am stuck on my GAB bar that if you look at it is really no better than an Ebay bar. Period correct I guess. Meh. Congrats on the pickup!

We’ll see about those damn flanges. I went to a couple muffler shops in town and wanted to punch one counter guy he was so abrasive.

Hellz yeah, one of these days I will try to convince some Denver peeps to make a road trip to Utah. Won’t be so hard with the wifee, she loves road trips though if it is hot out she will bring the Pacifica as she does love her AC lol.

 at hubcaps w/bald snow tires get those wheels painted/coated man!

Word on the vid, make it happen!

Nothing huge… But just to make Deceptakhan (and the other 3 people that follow this thread) happy, I did a fly-by vid this morning.

As I said, nothing special but you get the idea…

DA Integra Fly-By Vid

Edit

Dont hate on my 1 reverse light… I think the socket on the passenger side has some debris in it or something as it can never decide whether to work correctly or not lol.

I am happy! That sounds sweet, gives me hope for mine as I have yet to hear it under load. Wouldn’t have even noticed the light had you not pointed it out.

Loving the car, looks like it just wandered from a show room.

Bumping this thread again. Just read it from the beginning after being linked from the favorite pic thread (new wheels look great btw). I must say, this has to be one of my most favorite builds. I had no idea you got to take the shrink wrap off the uber rare stainless exmag. I knew you did some quality work on the car but had no idea as to the depth. Hats off to you sir! I seriously wonder why this thread has slipped under most peoples radar, yet others with dubious mods and corner cutting get all the attention. This has a fresh built motor, some seriously rare stuff, top notch workmanship and parts, and one of the best paintjobs around. All in a nice OEM + package. SOrry man I am drooling over the car!

I hate to bring it up this way, but the last couple of pages you keep saying you are bored with it. Holy crap you must be kidding! Ultimately though, if you get THAT bored with it let me know, I would sell the souls and my current DD to swoop this up. Not trying to get it, just I am very impressed and absolutely love the car. After all, the best compliment you can get is someone wanting to own your car and all the hard work you put in xD

Us Colorado and Utah peoples should have a meet this summer. Hell I am down to make the drive.

Hah, thanks for the ego-boost! Very flattering, to say the least. It still needs a ton of stuff though.

The RS*R, well, what can I say? When I was shopping around I recall the majority of people saying that it was one of the best sounding systems out there. And though its not a true 2.5" ID system, sound and tone definitely go into consideration… No fart-can for me thanks.

When I bought it I was able to just call them up directly and order it. I had no idea that it was out of production and going to be a ‘rare’ item. But taking it out of the box after 3+yrs of buying it was better than Christmas lol, definitely my favorite part on the car. I found the receipt a month or so ago… I paid nearly $700 for the damn thing!

The car has definitely had some work done to it, but there is still plenty more it would need before I’m happy. Mainly suspension busings all around, wheel bearings, new brake lines, etc etc.

As far as being bored with it, I think its more frustrated/annoyed with it. A lot of little problems keep springing up. A few things have caused me to question the health of my motor (smells of coolant, a friend saying white smoke came from the exhaust, slight loss of coolant, etc).

After a leakdown test (2-3% on all 4 cylinders) and a coolant system pressure test, I’m convinced that I had an external coolant leak that was dripping onto the header/cat area… causing the smell and smoke. Thankfully, a test for cylinder-leakage indicates that I have no gasket/sleeve issues.

Another issue, the front main/oil pump seal is leaking… and the way its dripping, I can’t tell for sure but it looks as if the oil pan could be leaking as well. Now, I have a replacement seal… and an oil pan gasket won’t exactly break the bank, these are just annoyances that shouldn’t be present on a newly built motor. Meh!

Mainly I’m just bitching, really. I’ll get that stuff taken care of, along with the rest of the odds and ends, sometime throughout the winter months. Then alignment and tune first thing come spring. If I’m unhappy with it still, I’ll name a price for it

A meet would be great… I just need to make sure the car can reliably drive more than 40miles at a time.

Nice thread man. Car looks fresh! Love that color.

Nice build thread, how could I have missed it. I know what you meant when you said you weren’t so interested in the car scene so much anymore. Trust me it’s a love/hate relationship a-lot of us have gone through. But from past experiences the key is to remember all of the sacrafices that you have made to get to where you are today. It seems like everytime when we are so close from being done with one of our projects we tend to either want quit, or want to get something different. So my advise to you as someone whos been were your at is to think to yourself do I really want to go through with this all over again or do I just finish it up and be happy with what I got and then maybe later on in life get something different to do a mini build up or a full one but at least you know that you have accomplished something that most people die trying. So good luck to ya and I hope that it all works out for you regardless of what you decide to do because I’ve read your whole thread and I’m also inspired by it to go ahead and finish mine up which has been sitting for a year plus in pieces.

Thanks man… I’ve been happier with it lately as it has been my main mode of transportation this last week.

My daily had some paint work that needed done… the previous owner rolled all 4 fenders and the paint was chipping. So out came the DA.

The weather has been (mostly) cooperating and not snowing enough to accumulate, allowing me to drive the teg. Officially 650+ miles on the motor so far, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I hit a milestone. 200k on the chassis!

Naturally, a photo had to be taken:

Thankfully my daily will be put back together tomorrow and the DA can be put away for the winter. Man, it hurts seeing it covered in snow in the morning lol.

Right on man, sounds like you are getting on the right path. And as far as the da, now you have all the time in the world to work on her since you will be storing her away for the chilling winter. Way to go man.

wow man i remember you giving me great advice when i was putting in my motor on this site… musta missed your build thread… car is amazingly clean and awesome video… much thumbs up

How do you guys miss one of the best threads on here. Shameless  heres hoping you get that daily back up and running soon

same way you missed mine lol

Hah… bow

Hardly one of the best… but for a budget build, it gets the job done.

The daily is finished, and the DA is sittin under the car cover, where it belongs lol.

Thanks for the props, fellas. Come spring the car will definitely be getting more goodies and attention.

I need to see more pics of it. Not enough HG DA’s on here lol

No real updates, as the car has been sitting… but I had a couple random photos that I don’t think I posted in here. So, as requested…

Yes it needs m0ar low… And sanded/buffed… And, and, and… ITS A BUILD THREAD!!

Naturally, any and all feedback is appreciated.

 Nice build, man! Cant believe I missed this thread. If your ever down in Denver, Holla!

I like your build. Alot of work done to it…

Id love to take a trip to CO… you fellas definitely know how to put in work and pull together as a community. Good shit!

Thanks fellas. Still a long way to go to get it where I’d like it… But one day it’ll be there lol.
