Nice. I had factory floor mats in my db1, but threw them away cause I was young and stupid back then.
Got my car back up and running today. I never mentioned it on here, but it was running crazy rich and my o2 connector got all corroded. I put a new pigtail on and a new o2 sensor and she’s back to normal =]
This happened about a week ago I just forgot to post it. I had the new o2 on the car for 2 days and then it got bent during a pass. It was just in a bad spot
I decided instead of getting another bung welded on and another o2 I just took my chip out and sent it to a friend in Houston so that he could turn the o2 off. My car was tuned in open loop so I should be able to run it without the o2 and be alright.
In other news I got this the other day =] My buddy bought it for me for helping work on his cars
Been working on making this torque damper the past week. Description of it is in the video

Got my boost gauge and oil pressure gauge in the mail yesterday so today I decided to figure out where they needed to be mounted. I figured since the car doesn’t have ac anymore…who needs vents? So I made another carbon fiber piece. Unfortunatly the boost gauge does not appear to be working correctly =[ It reads 22 psi when the car is off, and 11 psi at idle. My friend bought these for me off some guy so kinda sucks that it’s not working right. I don’t know if the oil pressure gauge works or not cause I’m not gonna put that on until the sandwich plate goes on for the turbo. Anyway, here are some photos of it
^That’s real carbon fiber btw, not wrap. Cut it all out from an old hood
Installed my oil pressure gauge today with help from Jose =]
(Other hole is for the boost gauge)
Got another piece for it today, thanks to Jose. That other one I got from alfredo was just too shitty. This one is 100 times better and the wastegate is actually centered over all 4 runners instead of just 2.
Thanks man. It’s coming along quicker than I thought it would, but still have a ways to go. I’m about to order my boost gauge and my omni 2.5bar map sensor
So on Saturday night I ran over a semi truck tire on the highway =[ I changed lanes and right when I went into the lane I saw it, swerved as hard as I could, but still slammed into it on the passenger side. It scuffed up my bumper, broke my type r lip, dented the bottom of my fender, ripped my axle boot, and ripped some of my wiring harness down into the axle and tore it up.
Today, I fixed my lip, re sprayed it satin black to match my moldings, got a new axle, and got my harness all fixed up =] I still need to pull the fender off and fix that, and fix my bumper.
Snapped a quick cell phone shot while filling up the other night with my friend and his sti
Sweet! Found a deal on an Avid traction bar, even better still, had a buddy who owed me for working on his subaru so he bought it for me =] Fitting my downpipe is gonna be so much easier now that the giant subframe will be gone
I cleaned it up and resprayed it black and put it on the car. I’ll get a photo of it next time I’m out in the daylight. For a $130 part that I didn’t even have to pay for…I’m more than happy lol
So I finally got so fed up with my tune I decided to buy a chip programmer from Moates.net and get rid of this tune. I pulled my rc 550’s off today, I’m gonna go up to honda tomorrow and get all new o rings and seals for the injectors so I can put my stock 240cc back in. Once I do that I’m gonna drain the remaining e85 from the tank and go back to running 93 =[ . I don’t really wanna do that, but at this point I just want the car to drive like stock again and not have all it’s issues. (Ex. Stalls out every time I put it in neutral, running really rich) Hopefully it will run like normal once I do this, if not…It’s just gonna be sitting until the turbo set up is ready and I have an s300 in my hands to properly tune it.
Anyone who knows me and my car personally knows how jacked up this tune is and how excited I’ll be if I can get it to run properly again lol
So got my car up and running again on the stock injectors. I drained out what was left of the e85 from my tank and put in a bit of 93. Put the car back on the stock p30 base map and then tuned from there. Got everything to where it’s good enough for me to where I can drive it and get on it without issues so i’m happy. No more starting issues, no more idling at 11.5, no more stalling out when i come to a stop. All of which were problems from the previous tune. Just fyi if you live in Texas, DO NOT have a guy named Turbo tune your car. It’ll run like shit, unless you have an o2 sensor covering all the mistakes up like I did.
So sucks that i’m not on e85 more, but I’l go back to that when the car is boosted. I’m just glad to of gotten it up and running correctly for now =]
Took this shot while I was waiting for the e85 to drain out today 8-27-13 by AlwaysInVtec, on Flickr
