my ls-t to ls/vtec-t

and it’s ready to take a beating!

if u dont mind me askin, what size is ur intercooler? just curious

28x7x2.5 2.5" in/out

Re you gonna build that motor also in the near future or just drive it w stock internals for now. just wondering because it should hold that kind of boost on that tune the way it is,the only difference is that before it could take a more of a beating than now.

it’s got benson sleeves overbored to 84mm with mahle pistons and eagle rods. it’ll take much more of a beating then my ls/vtec

what kinda wheels are those?

GSR Blade.

B18C. benson’s sleeved. overbored 84mm.

Oh Yeah’’ that’s what am talking about … nicely done man…

haha thanks man. replaced my skunk2 rear camber kit yesterday with a SPC one. the skunk2 bushings were destroyed what a waste of money that was. also installed my jdm 23mm rear swaybar finally. the car finally handles amazing once again! also picked up a neuspeed front strut bar. not really a fan of struts but i couldn’t pass up a legit neuspeed bar.

btw beat a viper last night at the drags haha. guy laughed at first when i jumped infront of everyone to go race him. i was the one doing the laughing when we passed the finish line hahaha!

did you sent the block to the state or you got it done locally?

viper killer! what was your time?

benson works on all his engines by himself. the block was sent to him to get the work done.

13.0 at 118mph. not to good the track was cold and i was having wheel hop issues it was horrible.

good job on the viper kill!

hey redtegra, what was the price on these things? i looked around on their website and didnt find a whole lot of info. thanks, any updates on the whip?

ya you have to call or e-mail them if you want prices. new they’re worth $600 cnd.

as for the car i’ve been having issues for a while now. at first i had a blown head gasket and was burning coolant and coolant was getting into the oil. i changed the head gasket and got the head rebuilt. the head got decked, 8 new exhaust guides, 6 new exhaust valves, valve seals and valve job. after all that i still have a coolant issue. i was about to remove the engine today but when i pressurized the cooling system it held the pressure perfectly. i removed the valve cover to see if water was getting into the oil and the oil looked perfect. then i noticed the skunk2 cap that i bought when i did the head gasket is the newer gen which explains the horrible fitment issues i had with it. so i’m pretty sure my current problem is just the rad cap that wasn’t holding any pressure. i’m going to reinstall my old cap and go for a drive tomorrow to see what happens.

looks like solid progress since I last check in:up:

could you possibly have a sticking thermostat???

i have a mishimoto thermostat and it seems to work fine. if i put my fan on all the time the temps drop to 150 no problem. so i went cruising today with my old cap and the system pressurizes now but my overflow still filled up and i might have burnt some coolant. not sure if my cap is defect. one thing that’s different is now when i shut the engine off you don’t feel air coming out through the upper rad hose anymore. but the coolant level in the rad still went down. i’m going to do a leak down test this week and that should tell me for sure if i have a head gasket problem again. i will also test my rad cap since i didn’t bring the right adapter this weekend to test the cap i just had the adapter for the rad.

i never posted what happened to my ls/vtec. i’ll let the pictures do the talking. lesson to be learned from this, use the OEM harmonic balancer.
