my ls-t to ls/vtec-t

my trans did the exact same thing, my uncles own a trans shop and we ended up replacing the throw out bearing. easy enough fix. hopefully thats all it is.

my throw out seemed fine. but the fact that when i put it into gear right away the sound goes away means that it’s really coming from inside the trans. yet i couldn’t see anything wrong with it. any way, i’ve been looking for a long geared trans for a while and my third gear synchro is finished so ill just find a hydro ls and swap the shafts in.

yeah if its toast just get another one, but yeah i thought the same thing cause mine did the same thing, push it in it went away, but when i replaced the bearing it when away, it was a noisy bearing and without the clutch applying a little pressure it wouldnt quiet down. but good luck with it either way its looking great!

ya mine i have to press the clutch in all the way. i did notice one thing though. the ring that engages the third gear definitely heated up since it was blue/purple. definitely not normal. any way i think i found a 2000 ls trans for 200$. ill go check it out. car still drives just dunno if the trans will blow up on me. guess we’ll find out cause im going on the dyno tomorrow.

youre keeping me in suspense dude!

headed to the dyno in an hour. will post the results tonight. maybe i’ll take a video or two.

330whp, 265ft-lbs tq. couldnt boost more then 16 psi my wastegate spring is only a 7psi spring so the boost controller couldn’t do more then that. i ordered springs so ill be heading back next week and bring it up to around 22psi.

ran a 12.8 at 120mph tonight. pretty happy with that. could have went for more i was finally getting the feel of the new setup. didn’t want to break anything though. finally got a trans that’s working pretty mint. i just want to enjoy the car for a few days at least haha.

another 12.8 tonight but at 121mph haha. did 12 passes tonight. car is still holding up fine. my buddy brought his contour hd so we got some video’s tonight.

 its about time this thing see some street and track time

ya man i love it! feels so good when the weekend comes around and i just drive the teg all weekend. when monday comes and im back at driving the prelude it feels like garbage!

Glad to see everything worked out, been watching this thread since the beginning…I also have pist/rod lsvtec I’m getting tuned in a couple weeks…interested in seeing what you put down with more boost

it’s going down tomorrow! there’s a 2 day drift event this weekend and his shop is at the track and i ran into him. turning up the boost tomorrow!

didn’t end up retuning. some civic on the dyno stoped working and it took forever. added a small spring in my wastegate and the minimum is now 16psi. going to try for this friday. saturday there’s an integra meet at the track and i’d like to have that extra 100whp

well things didn’t go so well during my retune my oil pump exploded. pretty much everything is ruined after missing oil twice so here’s a teaser of the new plans. a fresh start.

36mm oversize hub. 600whp.

started it up today. started right up and idles perfectly even with the old tune. street tuning friday.

raxles or beefed up stockies? curious…

A1 CV Tech. i believe they’re modified cadillac inner joints and shafts with prelude outers. or something like that. maybe it’s the opposite since the inners fit into the stock diff and intermediate shaft.
