engine is going in this weekend. oh and i got myself some type-r cams. time to make some decent power.

cars running!!! i put 200km on it today. engine’s running amazing. nothing like my other ls/vtec that had problems right from the beginning. bit of smoke under accel until i hit about 40km and then it stopped. i suppose the ring’s set well pretty quick. tomorrow im getting a street tune done to get the idle, part throttle, fuel cut etc. stuff done so that the car drives stock and has a perfect air/fuel for the 1000km break in i’m doing. once i hit 1000km which won’t take long i’m going back for a full power tune and i’ll post the results.

John from JS Tuned. i changed tuner this year. got a street tune today. idles good and doesn’t run rich anymore. it’s boosting at 9 psi right now. haven’t brought the rev’s over 5000rpm yet but i will slowly be bringing them up tomorrow.

the worst part is i’ve removed the dash twice. minor details
was strapped down on the dyno ready to go when my iacv died and my wideband also. stole a iacv from my friends car that was in the shop so it runs now but will only get the wideband tomorrow. probably go back on the dyno tomorrow night. and i also have a ticking sound coming from my transmission now. it’s pretty loud and when i push the clutch in it stops. going to wake up early and remove the trans and check it out. might have to open the casing if i don’t see anything obvious with the clutch or flywheel.
Oh no… Best of luck bro! Hey are you still running a stock fuel rail? I’m curious to see what you hit on the dyno!

ya still using the stock fuel rail. so i took the trans apart today. everything looked fine except my third gear synchro which i knew was finished. the clutch also looked fine. reassembled it all and still does the same knocking sound. definitely coming from the trans. when i push the clutch in it gradually goes away and if i push the clutch and put it into gear right away the knocking stops instantly. if i leave it in neutral and just force the shifter into any gear the knocking gets louder. it’s very weird. i’m looking for a ls ys1 now.
