Off-topic: The seatbelt module is on the passenger side lower/ rightside (USDM) kickpanel. It’s really easy to get to. I had some broken wires there
it led to major failure of the track system etc. We can chat more in another thread.
Does the ICU affect foglight use? Mine was not working yesterday but I remember checking it with the light reminder chime.
Perhaps I blew a fuse. Will report findings but I wanted to ask the question in the meantime in case there’s anything additional I should check when I start poking around.
ICU is not associated with the fog lights in any way that I am aware of.
That is an interesting question I never thought of. Do the fog light cause the lights on chime to sound? Can the fog lights be turned on independently of the running lights?
To my knowledge they’re only an option when the headlights are on
So I have mine rewired so it can come on with the parking lights when I press the foglight switch. But the chime will sound as long as the headlight switch is in a non-off position. It’s just very coincidental so I thought I’d ask! I didn’t drive that car today, but I’ll check it when I get home today – at least pulling the fuse isn’t a timekiller.
Rewired or modified? I go by the Acura wire diagrams and the way things were originally designed to function. Once someone modifies something I depend on them to understand the effects of their changes.
Oh no – It’s not a complicated “rewire”. It’s a wiretap between two wires behind the foglight switch. All it does is enable the foglights to come on with parking lights, instead of it only being on with the headlights. I think you’re right and there’s nothing wrong with the ICU, and it’s just a coincidence but I just wanted to report it out of completeness while I’m testing it out.
We’re finally getting some rain the past few days, so I have been playing around a lot with the intermittent wiper times. Some feedback here: is it possible to get an audible tone (like the door switch mode) once the ICU accepts a new interval time?
That is an interesting idea. So it would be a brief tone when you turned the switch back to intermittent after waiting less than a minute. It would sound each time you turn the intermittent wipers on within one minute of the last time you turned them off. It is possible but I am curious why you would want that. The only time I see it providing useful information is when it doesn’t sound because you have waited more than a minute. In all other cases it just tells you that you turned on the wipers which should will already be obvious because the wipers will wipe.
I would think a more useful time to here a tone might be when the rear defog turns off automatically. But if I start adding tones for various events some people will like it and others will not.
You’re right. This is user error. I just reviewed the instructions for operation, and I was setting the interval incorrectly.

Do you have a suggestion how I might update the instructions to make them more clear?
No, it’s perfectly clear. I just forgot them and was attempting to do something else.
I retract my question about the foglights.
This is a result of my being overworked. I got my cars confused. The Integra with the new ICU doesn’t have the foglights connected. (This is the same car that I rushed to put on the headlights to check the H4H adapters but the foglight wiring was damaged, and I didn’t have the time to fix it. A temporary situation became permanent).
So, so far so good! Sorry for the mixup.
Just another update. So far so good on the door reminder and intermittent wiper. I’ve been using them quite often!
Hopefully more people will post feedback.
I made a few more and I posted them on eBay. If you contact me here and we can avoid the eBay fees, I will take $20 off the eBay price. I am now charging a pretty steep core fee because I need the connectors and the case from old burned out ICU to make more new ones.
If all goes according to plan, I will have several days off later next week. I desperately need to sort through my car parts. I’ll dig around to see what spare ICUs I have to help out. I do want to purchase another and put it in the 93 Teg.
Will trade 2 cores and some money for one.
Sorry for the slow reply I was out of town. Two cores plus $140 price includes shipping.
