oh man, I wouldn’t work all day just do I can be going to every junkyard and pulling parts to ship them to the US. lol

Yeah I guess its not for everyone. He did offer in the past though to try to source stuff and ship it to the US while he’s stationed there. I believe he pays shipping costs as if he was inside the US.

I was mainly thinking that he could make some money off that stuff easily. Not to mention the stuff that’s going to get crushed is the stuff people in the US are always trying to get. And its all getting more and more difficult to find since one by one DAs are leaving the roads and ending up in crushers.

The side moldings are easy, you just have to remove the door panels. They’re also probably one of the most valuable parts on it if they’re in good condition.

Usdm seat belts are automatic, the jdm ones are manual. People always want to buy manual belts. If you do decide to pull them make sure to take the pillar covers too

If the speaker covers are Gathers, I would grab those too.

Oh and the sun visors! If you wouldn’t mind pulling those for me I’d pay you for them and shipping. Call me weird but I hate how the visor on the drivers side doesn’t have a mirror on it.[/QUOTE]

i took the sun visors for myself already and they are still in the oem bag. like if you bought the car brand new from the dealer. i’ll post pictures. neither of them have a mirror on them.

as far as da parts go, there are none. literally zero. the VERY few misc parts that are available are STUPID expensive. i got pretty lucky with this one. if you want other things jdm, i can do that.

that car didnt have power folding mirrors. thats the very first thing i looked for after the headlights of course and yes. im keeping it the same color. i would like to do something else since i hate the color red but that would require an engine pull. if i pull the motor then im going to want to do all sorts of things before putting it back in. maybe some other time…

yea man, if you guys want something let me know and i’ll do what i can. not just car parts either. video games, toys, food, whatever really. we have a usps on base so my shipping rates are rated as though i was shipping it from california. im considered zone 1.

its pretty sad that db ended up in the junk yard. i have no idea why someone would junk it. its kind of a good thing since it makes my car that much more valuable here but at the same time it makes it harder to own since body panels and super rare optional oem parts are hard to come by.

i would bring this car back but i already have a buyer lined up and i will be taking back my rx7 instead and i already have a DA back home. what would i do with 2 of them?

i took the 3rd brake light out of my DA that says “integra” on it. i think its pretty lame. i wont part with it though. its one of those things that the future owner would want im sure. the owner of the body shop that is painting the car wants to buy it when i am ready to sell.

i was finally able to do my motor mounts and put in the hasports i bought. the car is completely different. im having to re-learn to drive this thing. its insane the difference that a good set of motor mounts make. my understeer issue seems to have vanished, the car has torque now, my gas mileage has gone up and the car is just overall better to drive. i drove without the hood on and got to see how bad the motor mounts actually were. the valve cover almost touched the strut bar. it was really bad. sadly, my go pro was acting up and i couldnt get any video but believe me… it was bad.

from the look of those motor mounts im sure it was bad. Im surprised that your valve cover didn’t hit the hood with all the movement it had. Maybe the front mount helped a little (if your has one)

I already posted a pic of my front motor mount. I removed it when i installed my traction bar. Even though it became a 2 piece mount, i think when i removed it the other mounts actually got worse. I may have expedited the process a little by removing it.

Its all good though, that was the past. My future has hasports in it.

12-15k on this car when its complete. Maybe even more. Im not too worried about it. I would feel better about leaving this thing in japan than taking it to america where its just going to be a target. It would be incredibly disappointing for something to happen to this car in america because of all the worthless bastards that would rather take from others than work for their own.

Didn’t know you had already removed the front mount. I removed my front mount, but I have energy inserts on the stock mounts. That’s probably why my mounts have survive 4 years of beating. Without the inserts my mounts would probably had gone bad in a few weeks.

i think the next thing i will be doing are my RTA bushings. the hardrace kit is supposed to come out next month and idk if i want to wait or not. im going to need to find out if the master kit will come with the RTA bushings. it would suck to have 2 sets. i would imagine it would since the CRX/EF kit comes with them. once all the required mods are done with this car then i can start focusing on dress up. the biggest thing im worried about is the wire tuck. i have no idea how long thats going to take and i dont want to mess it up. i may go ahead and get the rywire harness or buy a spare obd0 b16 harness and experiment on that one.

either way, im going to have to do some stuff myself. relocating the fuse box and all the crap is going to be a pain. ultimately this is what i want.

i dont know if im going to remove the PS or go electric. the AC is staying, there is no compromise on that. the stock lines are going to be ugly once the engine bay has become more simplified though. there are a form of ss braided lines that people use for custom ac work along with all the fitting and everything else. im going to look into that and run the lines so they are out of the way but keep the same cooling efficiency. theres going to be a lot of trial and error and research to do it, but when its done i will detail the process and that will be my life long contribution to the DA community.

i also went ahead and ordered my new set of wheels. they arent going to stay black for very long. i want to get them redone in the gold they come in

for sure… im not a fan of the color black on wheels at all. but paying 400$ vs 1000$ for the exact same set of wheels in a different color… i can deal with the black…

i got my wheels and took them to the wheel shop to see how much it would be to paint… these mfkrs want 400$ for JUST paint… if i would have known then i would have just bought the gold ones from the start. im either going to have to deal with the black or pay up.

I dropped the car off at the body shop today. Pretty excited. Im gonna drop in every couple days to check out the progress. In the mean time my friend is letting me borrow his car until mine is done. I’ll have some pictures later.

stopped in and saw the progress… theyre moving along. the white hood i got off that db in the junkyard. it fits better than the one that came with the car.
