looks like a 92-93 front lip installed on the rear bumper. For the koni yellows they have 1.5 turns of adjustment. When you get them turn them all to one side and then you’ll be able to adjust them all equally. The rad mounts for the traction bar is if you have a half rad. If you’re using a stock rad it should fit in the stock location.
Yea, i guess it is a 92-93 lip. Pretty creative. Good eye.
I know now about the konis. All 4 of them just turned and turned. All defective brand new out of the box. I sent them in and should be getting a new set eventually.
And thanks for the info on the radiator. I was confused because they make mount brackets so i was thinking the radiator mounted to the traction bar. Im putting off the radiator just because i dont feel like dealing with the wiring for the fans.
Lazy? Yes
so good news…
4 working koni shocks are in the mail and so are my ground control sleeves and rear camber kit along with some this’s and thats’s…
very excited. once everything is here, all the parts i have will be going in the car at once. with all the luck in my house from the tug of war rope, i will be able to do it all in one day on a weekend at torii. the only thing that is the most “dangerous” to putting my car down and making it immobile, is the radiator… but even then, a radiator is a cake job. just the bleeding part can be aggravating. luck for me, i have a lisle funnel that should make that job easy.
the shocks shipped out today so hopefully they arrive next weekend… maybe not, but its what i’m hoping for. i have a long list of mods that i will be doing when all this stuff arrives, to include installing the stuff that i have been keeping in my storage closet.
the goal is to have all this stuff on the car before the next rcca event. i said that last time but this time for real for real…
this is the parts i have(will have) to put on:
radiator with the fans
cam seal
traction bar
suspension
short shifter
rear camber kit
ss brake lines
spark plugs and wires
maybe put my cusco strut bar and take out the spats bar (the cusco bar is adjustable)
thats all i can think of, there may be more but when d-day comes, it will be lots of fun work…
more to come…
You wouldn’t happen to be able to find me a superwing over here?
Love the progress so far.
thats a big negative sir. i have yet to buy anything for my da locally. the parts just dont exist anymore. i HAVE to get everything from you guys or ebay.
i would love to find a hiro wing at upgarge or something but sadly, its not possible or highly unlikely.
check this out… i went to upgarage to look for a box and i met this cool old guy. i asked him if i could take some pictures and he was more than happy to let me. we had a little talk about what his car. he daily drives it and he says the ride is very soft and comfortable.
i also seen this sad sight at the junkyard
Damnit. A whole type r that doesn’t even looked wrecked. All bad.
So i made these super cool brackets to mount the box for my subwoofer to my strut bar so it doesn’t slide around. I went to the togue with it in the trunk and found it on the opposite side and face down. Like it rolled over. It also broke my rca cables.
But this should solve that problem.
And a milestone. This is 7941km since december 12th. Thats a lot of driving.
Just got an email from koni saying they had to special order the shocks from holland because they didnt have them in stock and they wont arrive THERE until 4/26. Meaning they wont be HERE until mid may. This sucks. The sad part is, they ordered them from holland on 3/14.
I was the one that contacted them to see what was taking so long. It would of been nice to have been informed of something like this a month ago when they told me FIRST that when my broke set arrived it would be 1-2 days before my new set would ship.
Im pretty angry about the whole situation
not an update on my car really but i am excited about it. after a VERY long time, i finally got my fd running and got it home.
also, koni said the shipment from holland to get my shocks have been delayed and they wont be shipped from there until 5/10. they sent me a few decals though… =\
I would of told them to keep their shocks and ordered something different
i thought about it. ive already been waiting for 3 months or so… it would be a waste to just bow out now and go with something else. i may as well just stick it out… the end result will be greatness im sure…
Good news. The shocks have shipped to me for real this time. They are in the mail with my name on it. Im about to head back home to florida for a month so the timing isnt perfect. So as it seems I will do it when I get back Along with all those parts I bought. My radiator and traction bar and various other parts. Im excited…
hey man can u send me an email. a few of us are wondering if you can get H4H bulbs for us lol just click my user name my email is correct on my profile
Me too! I just need one but I’d take a pair if they’re decently priced.
Thanks!
are you guys looking for normal h4h bulbs? non hid right?
I got a couple pairs now, but yeah that’s what I was looking for. Thanks anyway!
its finally ready. im most likely going to put on all the parts i bought this weekend. it should be a lot of fun…
Are you planning to cut the bumpstops in half in the front?
i thought that was only if i was using the stock bumpstops. why would i need to cut them in half?
I’m sure you wouldn’t have to but it would give the struts more room to compress before you’d hit them. From the picture it doesn’t look like they have much room before they’d hit, especially compared to the rears. I’m planning to cut mine. It’s up to you though, I was just curious.
