Is that lens that cheap? I didn’t think so
Well, my research is limited: http://soniccameras.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=246&gclid=CJ6OvaSlm5kCFQIvgwodLg0gBg

Sadly, yes. Lenses will rape your wallet if you start getting into the higher end glass.
Hell, even the “cheap” lenses are between $300-$500, which ain’t cheap at all, to me.
There still two more I need totaling about $1800, too. Then I’ll be done with zooms… Not that Canon’s L primes are any cheaper.

aww shit haha, how did it look
i still havn’t seen yours up close
Some recent stuff.
Quality isn’t the best cause this is a 100% crop.
blah i’m so jealous of you… i want a 70-200mm F2.8/L IS so baad.
i cannot afford nice lenses.
That’s pretty damn good quality for a crop though! Thats awesome, I’ve never seen a bald eagle in person. Also, keep those nature pics coming, they are freakin’ awesome. I know this is probably typical, but I’ve always been a fan of Ansel Adams. Unfortunetely the first time I saw his pictures were in a McDonalds. His pictures always bring me into a momentary state of peace.

Thanks for the comments.
I’d never seen a bald eagle in person either, until I moved here. Now I see them all the time. There is a nesting couple across the street from my house so I hear them yelling at each other all the time and see them chasing seagulls and crows around.
Here’s a few from yesterday
Port of Valdez
A crane on the ferry dock
Looking towards Alyeska. This is where the Alaskan Pipeline ends and the Tanker vessels fill up with oil to bring to the lower 48. The pipeline runs through the valley on the left.
One day I’ll get a pic when a Tanker is moored up over there. FYI, the EXXON-Valdez incident occurred about 20 miles south of here and ran aground after leaving this facility.
The people filling the job I do now (20 years ago) were partly responsible for that incident. Needless to say we always have eyes watching us.
Everything is wrong with this picture but it’s a shot of my setup last night shooting the af2 arena football game. We were in Amarillo for a preseason game. Video wise, I’m shooting all of the home games for the team.
edit : Yes, I know I have a cheap tripod, it became evident during the second quarter when it started to literally fall apart. A new one has been added to my shopping list.
what do you mean everything is wrong with that picture? It looks fine to me.
I’m going to have to go to a game with you next time I visit.
When you going back home? Stop by and go for a ride in the evo killer
…to bring to the lower 48
What are we to you?! Just a piece of meat?! Call us out by name! lol, jk jk. Dude, your pictures are amazing. I can’t say it enough. Alaska seems like a place I need to be in. It looks very stress - free.
Thedude, I love your pics too. That one w/ the baseball and home plate is amazing. You guys need to team up and start something. You’re both good at this game. Thanks for sharing!
