pics of my non abs conversion

something everyone should know that is thinking about removing abs… acura discontinued the line that goes from the drivers side wheel to the porp. valve - ie. no acura dealer can get it including acuraautomotiveparts.org, acuraparts247 and your local dealer. I found this out the hard way - my abs conversion is done except I need to find this line, so if anyone has a parts car with this non abs line please let me know as my car has no brakes :bawl:

Okay…it will be done tomorrow morning. I ended up running adaptors and short sections of 3/16 line from the factory lines. This proved to be MUCH easier than running the non-ABS lines all the way over…I won’t even have to bleed out my master. The RF brake line I removed and rebent it with a line bender so it would fit into the proportioning valve. The worst part was getting the ABS reservoir out (that and I forgot to bleed the pressure out of my ABS lines before I took the banjo bolt out of the ABS pump…oops). The only other thing I had to do was cut the line with the 12mm fitting and replace it with a 10mm fitting so I can get my new sections of line to connect to the old ones (not the 12mm fitting at the master, but the one at the ABS reservoir/valve assy). Thanks to all who helped answer my stupid questions…I’ll post a pic or 2 when I get the project all done and cleaned up. It shouldn’t look too much worse than stock (not enough that I’ll complain, anyway).

I NEED 1 of those fittings ASAP!!! I will pay for overnight shipping. someone email me at krisgt2@hotmail.com

thanks!!! please!!!

is there anyone that has a step by step of this??? im still lost after reading all post in this about 2-3 times… and if there are any extra fittings ill buy one off yall… i would really like to do this WITHOUT replacing any lines with non abs lines… let me know guys please thanks!!!

guys, jake isn’t around and won’t be for quite some time.

find the fittings locally. i’m still waiting for mine, and i actually talk to him on the phone now and then.

he’s got a ton of shit to have to deal with right now without worrying about kids on the internet whining about wanting a 3-dollar fitting overnighted to them because they’re too lazy to pick up the phone and start calling local businesses.

I went to a couple of local auto parts stores (not your typical Auto Zone, go to a Bumper to Bumper if you’ve got one) to get the adaptors and fittings for my conversion. I ended up cutting the lines and bending sections of line that would work. The system is working great aside from a little asthetic (sp?) issue with the adapted ABS lines (the lines are still covered up by my AEM intake, so no worries there). Just read my previous post as to what I did as opposed to getting non-ABS lines…I’m pretty sure I’ve got the basics in there.

…oh, and I’m almost certain that the rear drum prop-valves are different from the rear disc prop-valves (for those who were concerned with that). I found several places in a google search to obtain the necessary prop-valve for under $40.

just don’t go trying to ask jake any questions. i have to relay them to him by phone and i don’t have that much free time. texans like to talk. :stuck_out_tongue:

I FOUND THE FITTINGS!!!

I just ordered ten, cause the company that i found selling some only does C.O.D.

I’ll let you guys know when they come in and try to get a pic or two of one installed.

I’ll probably toss them up for sale IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM when i verify that they’ll work.

Until then, if you post in here that you want one i really couldn’t give two shits. cause i’m not going to hold on to any for anyone on this board. the number of people who claim they’ll buy something then never contact you after you give them payment information is simply astounding. fucking deadbeats everywhere.

k rant off. i found the fittings!

oh thanks!!! lol

damn, i want to do mines too But looks confusing.

Ok so now im completely confused about the abs to non abs conversion. I have a 1990 acura integra gs that was abs. I took out the abs system including the abs computer. I got a brand new MC from autozone for a 1990 integra rs. Then i got a honda 40/40 prop valve from a friend with a civic, and ran new lines, but now my brake start to lock up on me and i have no idea why. I still have a abs BB, I have a Non abs Mc, I made my own lines, I have abs calipers, I have new rubber hoses on the front. I dont have the abs prop valve in so my system consists of one prop valve, a mc, lines, a BB, calipers, pads and thats all. Someone please help me out here i need to get this figured out asap, my integra in suffering, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

If you switch your MC to non-ABS, I believe you have to swap your BB as well. You can try adjusting your pushrod(page 19-4 in the 92 Helms manual), but I don’t know if it has enough of an adjustment range to fix this. Actually, I remember someone on here that got around this by putting washers between the MC and the BB. Not sure how safe that is though. :uhoh:

i have a lot of washers between them for the extra space but its not enough i still have my abs mc what do i have to do to make that one work? thanks

All the info is in this thread. Just change one of the fittings from 10mm to 12mm. That or use an adaptor.

In ur guys pics it looks like you have another prop valve for the rear lines right before the firewall, is this needed?

That’s not a prop valve, it’s just a fitting. Didn’t your ABS teg have that? And no, it’s not needed. The non-ABS tegs don’t have those. The lines go from the prop valve, all the way to the back of the car.

I did the same set up as Nino. I did not change the booster. I used the abs booster with non-abs master cylinder.

I will email some info.

Just to clarify, my setup uses the ABS MC. I simply changed one of the 10mm fittings to 12mm.

Ok im pretty sure i finally have it thanks to all you guys here on g2ic. I put my abs mc back on and reused the one m12 fitting on my abs and made a new flare to fit it back to the abs mc and all is good now I just have to bleed the brakes 100% Thanks to everyone for all the help I was lost for awhile but now my baby can go back the track and get some more 1/4 mile times.
