I had a 92 with JDM GSR in it and I had 21 lbs of boost through it. Very quick car (low 12’s) but reliability was always a problem. Make sure you use the 9:4 arias compression pistons with strong rod bearings. Tune it with a greddy or hondata management system and you should do ok. Make sure you use the skunk2 turbo cams and other bolt-ons for optimal power. Fun cars!

Ok actually I had a GSR with 21 lbs of boost running 12’s. I have the slips saved to prove it. I’m not being a nuisance (sp?) I’m trying to help people build a proper and reliable set-up. Take a chill pill dude, just lookin out for others

hey, thats cool for ur car with 21lbs of boost and all but u got vids or pictures or anything. i wanna see this thing and with that much boost on a built gsr, i would not be happy with 12’s, i prob. run 12’s now. i beat a dodge srt-4 that runs 13.2 and he said im def. a high 12 sec. car. and im barely makin any power. oh by the way everyone, im sellin this kit and gettin somethin a little better to make more power and im building my block, im shootin for 350-400whp and low 12’s, high 11’s at the track, sorry the link doesnt work anymore with the vid and pics on it, my tuner i guess cancelled the page he had for all his customers. hmm i’ll make a better vid soon of me on the street, prob. next weekend when its nice or somethin. well seeya keep the comments comin. by the way im sellin my complete kit for $1700 with everything. let me know.

hey everyone, i fixed the link on the first page, it works again, as u can see, my tune was on 5.5 psi and was really rich, i have turned the boost up now and im runnin 8 psi daily and 10 psi well for those special occasions and im still runnin fairly rich, low 11’s high 10’s for air fuel ratio so i can only image the power i’d put it on 10psi with slightly leaner conditions, i can say that just on 10 psi alone im at 250-260whp on cold nights and i bet even higher if i had a leaner tune which im still tryin to work on getting soon. oh ive been taking video clips of me driving, theyre coming out good i got me blowin some huge flames on teh highway and just clips of me from outside of the car taking off, i never realized how fast my car is til after seeing these, this thing really pulls off fast. i’ll post them up this week. keep viewing.

yeah you deffinatly need a better tune… I know 10psi on a gsr should be putting you over 300hp… i had a friend that had a stock gsr motor, rev hard turbo kit at 10 psi makin around 320hp and ran a 12.1 in a ek hatch on drag radials… My suggestion for your future plans would be to go with a Full Race turbo setup and ditch the ls trans… Just my opinion tho… Good Luck

I doubt you’ll make much more power running leaner. Power is to be made from the ignition timing, not so much the fuel. Goodluck

fuel plays a major role in power… too little fuel and you’ll have detonation… too much fuel and you’re not gonna be able to burn it so you wont be makin optimum power… if it was something as simple as timing, people wouldnt be spendin all this money on fuel management systems and tuning them

Obviously too lean means detonation and too rich is just as bad. But I meant going from a low 10 a/f to a low 11 a/f won’t net any huge gains. I haven’t seen many dyno plots that show huge gains running leaner. Even when I tuned my car and dynoed it af ew times, I only gained aroud 10whp peak gonig from 10.5 to 11.5. Obviously that’s better then nothing. but to me, some people seem to think they’ll make a assload more power when it’s not always true. Depending on setups obviosuly.

Have you guys heard anything about the DRAG Gen 4 kits? They are resonably priced and say they can handle up to 450 HP… I have a JDM GSR swap in my 93 teg, and will pry be running 10-14lbs of boost daily… If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
