2.5 exhuast (going boost in a few months)
and either a Magnaflow muffler, strahgtpipe or an N1 Muffler.
6 Puck Stage3 clutch.
Aasco 8lb racing flywheel
ES Motor mounts

Hoping for Low 10’s in the 1/8 mile.

How much does a B16 short geard tranny normaly shave off on yor 1/8 and 1/4 times?
If anyone has decided to take the time andrecord the diffrence.

I have a 92 gsr with 180k milles on it.I have intake,header,exaust,fidanza cam gears,got my head milled .040,no a/c,power steering,clutch lightened flywheel,apexi v-afc.my timeslip looks like this:

I can’t come off the line to save my life!thats where i have most of my problems.whats good to launch at,ive been told different rpms,but nothing seems to work.what do you all think?

Thats a bad time. As you know, your 60’ sucked.

What you can do to try to grip is to slip the clutch from 3-3.5k rpm. The iey is to slip. If you can lower your times to 2.2-2.3, you should hit low 15s and possibly high 14s.

thanks man,but the engine is going,I have an ls block that im having built that im going to throw in.Im using my b17 head on it,even though its milled.it should be done by the end of this week,then im going to have to baby it until I have the money to build a head,then im going to put the b17 back together and find an EF shell to build and put it in.

Lower your 60’ to a 2.2 and you will see a 14.8. Rule of thumb(usually) is for every .1 off your 60’ will lower your 1/4 ET by .2. So if you drop .3 off your 60’ you should drop about .6 off your ET. And with that trap speed… seems to be right on point for a 14.8.

It did get better and better. but i only wanted to try it out. i’m pleased with the results. wish my reaction and 60fts were better. my 91’ LS teggy has a B20Z2 with a cheapy CAI, 2.5 Magnaflow exhaust catback, cheapy OBX header, ACT street clutch, full freakin’ interior, phat sound system (2-10" subs in a bandpass to be exact), spare and all, my A/C is in tach(working,blowing cold too) and also my power steering(need those necessities in life, haha!). i guess you can say that my car is fully loaded. but like i said, great times everyone and keep up the good work here on g2!

I don’t get how your one 60’ was like a 2.4 or whatever and you ran a 16.0… and then your other 60’ was a HORRIBLE 2.7 but ran a 15.8? Doesn’t make any sense.

yeah, i know it looks or sounds weird. but hey, that’s what it says on the time slip i have. sorry, no missed gears. but yes, i do have some grinding gears, 2nd & 3rd. old tranny with over 300,000 mi. on it. but it still works. replacing it next year.

i just ran my DA with a b16 this past friday figured id share the times kinda upset with my driving(been over a year and a half since i ran at the track) but not too shabby for a stock b16.

15.0@93mph w/ a 2.4 60’(14" steelies) all 3 runs were that i couldnt figure where to launch the car at all tried 4500/5000/5500 and all times the car fell flat on its face then went lol. guess next time imma try 6500 rpms lol.

pull some more power out of the car and maybe get it to a low 14 sec pass with some drag radials if possible.

but i guess not to bad for a torqless wonder in a 2600 pound car with me in it.(2590 to be exact)
