project 400 wheel hp DA

where to start, i bought my car about 3 years ago, stock for the past 2 then the last year i started saving for a custom turbo kit took me a year to get all the right parts when i go get the car tuned n the 2nd run the turbo blew piece of metal went every were in the engine here is a pic of the turbo so now im build ls vtec 400 wheel hp goal but i want to re wire everything get things i dont need out , hide the brake lines basically have the engine just floating on their

engines is out

about half the wiring

talking all the ac wires out
all the work i did today 12/27/05 all the extra wiring

i think you just made a mistake removing all the AC wiring.

y is that

are you sure none of the wiring is needed?
its just a big as mess. good luck, i guess.

good luck with the project, but cuttin wire like that is something i would never do… just re route them or put some braided hose over them

i havent posted in a while i just started to work on the car again here are some updates
im trying to do a quick disconnect harness. im hiding all the wiring under the fender for the headlights. i simply went to the junk yard and started cutting connectors off so i can do a quick disconnect. this is very time consuming! here some pics

here are the connectors i got from the junk yard

the wiring

left heaf light harness

left and right headlight harness

1 day of work with the main harness

this is how the originial harness looks like

the trash so far from the main harness

Ha-ha!
So a complete tear down build, caged stripped to hell and race ready?

i did similar on my 00 teg for wiring. i got a 99 gsr wiring harness(floor, doors, and dash) and removed all of the wiring for abs, cruise, air bags, and sunroof. i also regrouped the wires so that i could make a custom engine harness, relocate my ecu, and run bulkhead connectors for the headlight, horn and fan wiring. similar to your headlight harnesses but they look like plastic mil-spec connectors. good luck with the build, can’t wait to see more pix.

LOL, you have way too much time on your hands!

Good work though

hey if you need to start over i got all the wires from the headlights to the taillights back if you need it. i mean everything inside the dash out

no way i never had time im always at work, the 2 days i have off i dont feel like doing anything, i work 10 hours a day. i just need to get this car running, been sitting for like 4 months, i just got eagle rods, arp bolt head studs for ls/vtec today i did some more wiring work, my good time consuming! but almost done 2 days into the main wiring but comming out clean next on the to do list are the brake lines run them in back of the firewall. i wont have time to work on the car again till another week on my day off

here some pic of the progress i did today

alot better than yesterday

almost there

Well, I would say “almost there” if your rods are still in the box! Repeat when motor is in the car w/ completed harnesses! BTW, nice comeback from that harness-horror!

sick

Just did the same thing minus the brake line relocation/dash removal in my teg. Just have to connect the wires on the passenger side fender rail and Im all done. I dont reccommend it to the faint of heart, it is quite a project. I love the look of a gutted/tucked bay, good luck with everything man!!!

how are you redoing the harnesses wire loom and black electrical tape? anyway looks really clean and nice  and definitley some soup for you

im using, heat shrink, and sodering gun

i havent posted in a 2 weeks or so here the update, i re-did the brake lines behind the firewal, wiring is done, im getting my motor built right now in 2 weeks motor goes in! and i came up on a deal 250 for 2 sparco seats cant go wrong

very nice

So, is the dash going back in? Can’t wait to see that sucker when its done.
