once i get it tuned, we can meet up at a meet or something
Holy crap! i havnt been on in awhile but when i got on today and i started reading this i was amazed. that is so nice looking. i give you S**t loads of props. that is one of the nicest da engine bays ive ever seen. hope it all gets finished best of luck to you, and keep it up looks amazing.
Also he doest have to have alot of time on his hands, he as already stated he doest all you need is dedication, which i would say he has, to always work on it all day on his day off.
today i took off the oil pan and found a lot of little metal shavings. is that because its a new motor? or what would cause that, i now you have to change the oil after an initial break down, the motor sound different for some reason i dnt think its the injectors i will get a video tomorrow of the sound
New mtoor will always have metal shavings. but not, ‘alot’
helps to know what color the shavings are. If you see any copper color, that’s very bad. Can’t imagine you would on a motor that new, even built wrong. Did you do another valve adjustment after the initial heat cycle? Also, its a good idea to change the oil and filter pretty frequently during the first 1000 miles or so. And use cheap oil, NOT synthetic till at least 2000 miles.
just some metal almost like dust the only thing i didnt take a pic of it, their was some to very little cooper color in there here, whats the cooper color from? from the bearings right? no i havent done another valve adjustment i will do that today see if that helps i havent tan the car just idle, here is the link to the video .
remember i have everything aftermarket
ss valves, and ss springs and retainers, gsr cams,

sounds like it could be a rocker arm (not sure if thats the correct name) adjustment. Mine sounded like that when one of the adjustment nuts came loose and the screw backed itself out a little.
The copper color comes from bearing, and the copper doesnt start till pretty deep in the bearing, so if it is indeed copper particles from a bearing, its quite toast, which would be a major bummer. I can’t think of where else the copper color could be coming from.
If you already have the oil pan off, pop off the mains and rod end caps and check out the bearings yourself. But make sure you know how to re-install them correctly.
Also, can you resize that pic a little?
the bearings are acl. i need to check but till next week i would have a chance.
Should have stuck with OEM, but too late now. Who built the motor again?
When I asked about the pic I meant to resize the one you already posted so I dont have to scroll way over to the right, but too late on that one too I guess, lol.
+1 for OEM bearings, this is the exact reason why you should use them, ACL only come in one size, Honda Green, either you installed something incorrectly, or the bearings were too big for what you needed. Always, Always stick to OEM bearings. Anyway what did make you decide to use ACL? Honda bearings have proven to withstand upwards of 700whp, whats wrong with that?
i dont know why i picked them i just did not to save money or nothing like that. i dont have time again until saturday to check the bearings from the bottom of the car. jerry built. if their is metal shavings, motor will be pulled out to fit it, i really dont want to, but o well, i rather spend 100 bucks on new bearings than paying for new pistons and rods
i took of the pan, to check the bearings, and found nothing, all the little debre was probably from not cleaning the block, but now i know where the chunks of metal are coming from when i welded the oil pan, i had to cut into the tray, and i didnt smotthen it out, i guess i did not clean it well so i did
why is there oil on your spark plugs?
because i had a leak on the valve cover where the spark go but it has been fixed
Put some never seize on those plug threads or you will be sorry some day!
i did, i was almost sorry taking them off
clean turbo da6 i wannna do that too
Just found this. lets see some dyno and TS.:burnout:
