I have a Tanabe Hyper Spec exhuast system on my car. Its probably the closest thing to the 350/G35 tone. Its nice and quiet but once you step on it at around 4K it gives a nice deep engine tone. I love it. I have a Airmass header, brand new OEM cat, an CAI as my other mods so that might change the tone a bit, but I cant see it changing it to a noticable point. The Greddy SP2 is the same kind of system as mine so it would probably sound the same. Only thing I didnt like is the fact that the tailpipe sticks out a bit past the bumper, but now that I have had it one for a month I kinda like the look.
I was reading something on how they took like a month to make the tone for that car and the ugly truck they got too
What I didn’t understand what your saying about the truck? Thanks for the info, any other suggestions in terms of replicating the g35/350z exhaust tone.
different engines, its not gonna sound the same
i got the rs*r gtII catback … pretty tight on the ground clearance already with a stock height
the pic is in this thread:
Hey TheChosenOne how did that HKS setup work out? I was thinking of doing the exact thing? Did it make a nice deep tone?
I don’t know??? I bought the exhaust from a guy off ebay, but it got damaged, so i got refunded. But he just e-mailed me today and said that HKS was sending him more, and he would be ready to ship out by monday.
With the HKS muffler and custom piping setup, the key is getting someone to do it right. I have been thinking that I should also buy a high flow cat, and just have the muffler shop make me a cat-back whit the HKS.
But throughout this whole ordeal, I found that I can get a Tsudo exhaust for really cheap, and less the hassle. The only thing is, I really love that HKS hi-power look. As long as It doesn’t look or sound ricey, i’m gunna stick with the HKS custom setup.
GT2 all the wayyyyyyyyyyy! vroooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, if i were to do it over again i wouldnt change a thing, well maybe just hack it up a little for ground clearance. Oh well.
just to follow up to my own post, my exhaust just sprung a leak a month or so ago, so i upgraded to the tanabe super medallion hyper. this is probably the best exhaust. it’s louder than stock, you can tell a difference, but it doesn’t hurt my ears or anything. and, when you really get on it, oh man, so pretty. i would recommend this exhaust to anyone, no questions asked.
heres a video of my exhaust, custom 2.25 with a muffler from the muffler shop with a resonator. this was a morning start up so the idle was high but its really quiet and also my heatsheilds rattle sometime so i have to get that fixed

im new here so i hope this thread isnt to old.
91 ls
stock header for now
stock cat being swapped for hi flow when i get header
greddy sp2 cat back
the greddy sp2 is a pretty damn good exhuast i love it, its not to loud at idle cept for when you first warm it up that can be alittle to loud for early mourning warm ups. other then that crusing is good nice sound, driving through communitys its not loud but when you get on it, it gets loud and deep, then the tone seems to change at 6000 to redline( 6500) it screams for that 500 rpms…
im bringing this thread back…
I love my ESPELIR JGT500 catback… on my old teg.

Sound clip. http://www.tribb333.com/catback.mov

Few Espelir shots.
Tanabe Ultra Meldalion
yeah man i love my tanabe exhaust. i have the older version of the ultra medalion, man its loud and good in hp. it would sound even stronger when i get my kamikaze headers. i can make car alarms go on when i role in neigborhoods or at the movies. and like the jdm angle look on too. i rate my exhaust a 10.
Nice exhaust man! Where can i pick up that cat back? I tryed looking for a site to buy from but no luck. so any help would be helpful!
I got my exhaust system about 3 days ago it’s a TSUDO N1 style catback and it has a nice deep tone and it is not that loud i’d give it a 5 for loudness and it was only 248.00 dollars. http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=1001DCC8-628B-4CDA-AD27-DB4C21CDFD90
sorry for the giant picture its my first time posting a pic
it sounds actually pretty good, could make a passing video at wide open throttle? also your engine sounds like mine, kinda of ticky have you gotten a valve adjustment before?
nope i haven’t gotten a valve adjustment yet but its on my list
Well here is my exhaust system…
Ill give it a ten for loudness and a sexy beautiful Semi-truck like sound, hahah j/p
Nothing beats the lovely tone of a irritatingly gasious deadly emmisions failing open downpipe
i would to find an exhaust that has some serious ground clearance but still has a nice quiet tone. what i have now:
91 rs
mods: aem intake
exhaust: pacesetter header, 2.5" staight pipe, N1 canister style muffler
sounds like hell but its the only thing that has enough clearance for my teg
subframe 3.5" from the ground
