Seriously, what more can you ask from a company? Great products and great service…its surprising in this day and age. I would like to meet Marty in person just because he seems like such a stand up guy.
I ordered mine about a year ago and no issues so far.
Came across this thread and thought I’d share my testimonial on Raxles. Outstanding product. I am Turbocharged with 328HP at 16 psi and laying down all 240 ft lbs of torque on my Raxles. Had my set since September of 2008 and my DA is lowered to the max on some crappy @$$ Weapon R coilovers. Though just of recent, my car tends to vibrate at 70 to 85mph after 85, vibration stops. Also when I make sudden stops or down shift to slow down coming off the freeway, my steering wheel tends to start shacking almost uncontrollably. I have asked my mechanic about this and he says the axles are not the issue. What is the cause for all the vibration on the passenger side wheel and why is the steering wheel wobblly when I step on the brakes? (All in all, Raxles have satisfied me thus far, hoping this new issue with my vibrations are not the fault of the axle) .
you mechanic said its not the axles, but didn’t suggest any thing that it could be! sounds like it time to look for a new mechanic!! it maybe warped rotors, but this is the reviews section, not the help. I would try searching around in there and let keep this thread on topic
I have a new since of confidence about Raxles Axles now that I did find out my issue(but thats another subject). With my last post going elsewhere, I can assure those that are inquiring about Raxles, that these axles are worth the price, and the quality is there!
I’ll be replacing my driver’s side Raxle under warranty in the next few days. Will post up results for everyone who is considering doing a warranty replacement in the future.
You’re right, that is an inconvenience, and I wish I was still in Florida where shipping takes 1 day, but I still think it beats having to swap out axles every few months. Right now I’m driving the wife’s teg. I’m almost thinking about buying a spare set of Raxles so I don’t have to wait
Did you ask Marty about getting the axle before you send yours back? Last time I warrantied my axles I just shipped them to him and when he called me after they arrived he told me next time I could get the replacements first and send my cores later so I wouldn’t have down time.
Yeah. We didn’t go into details, he may need a deposit or something but he mentioned it. Not sure if the fact that I’ve been using his axles for 10+yrs means anything or not, but its not like he knows who I am since it’s only every 5yrs or so when I’ve contacted him.
He didn’t offer me that when I contacted him, and I’ve been using his axles since around 2003 That sucks. How long ago was that? Perhaps he got burned doing that so it’s not offered anymore?
Are you going to install them yourself? If you are, let us know how that goes. Seems intimidating to do for me. I never had the chance to try to install it. It seemed like an all day thing for the first time installer. I’m going to do it myself one day when the 2009 raxles give. If they ever do give up.
Neil, this was within the past 2yrs, I forget exactly when it was though.
91akira, it’s an easy job, but there are always potential issues. If you’ve never removed your axle nuts or ball joints then those could pose a problem, you never know how hard they will be to remove, some are a bitch. Likewise if the axle has been in the hub for a long time then it can be difficult to remove. Other than that, it’s cake. Make sure you have a good impact gun or a huge breaker bar. Make sure you have the Harbor Freight Ball Joint Separator (there’s a work around if you absolutely cannot get your ball joint separated, but in my experience that tool works every time). Make sure you have some sort of pry bar to pop the inner joints out of the trans and intermediate shaft. Make sure you have a hammer to tap the axle out of the hub - if it’s stuck, be careful not to mushroom the end of the axle. Leaving the nut on the end a little can help prevent mushrooming while you pound on the axle to break it loose.
Also, a little tip. After you remove the axles clean the inside of the hub REALLY well, best you can to get all the grease and rust and debris out of there. Before installing the new axles (which should also be clean) put some anti-seize on inside of the hub and on the splines of the axle. This will keep the two mating surfaces from rusting or binding and makes removing them next time an absolute piece of cake.
