looks like you’ve got a gem on your hands! Good progress so far my man! Keep it up :ohyeah:
Thanks guys…and again, no major updates will be going on for a few more weeks. Next step is going to be grabbing a good condition hood, a 92-93 front bumper, Password JDM mirrors, and off to paint.
I did however score a very nice rare piece that is currently being shipped…
They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m buying them for nostalgia reasons more than anything. Add to the fact you really can’t find mint all clear tails anymore + the price I found them and I could not resist.
better than altezzas.
Not too much to report. Ordering up some parts this weekend that I need before car goes to paint in another 2 weeks. Car will be resprayed factory Milano Red.
Password JDM mirrors
SRR front bumper quick release (the side “blocks” that the bumper screws go into are missing so these will hold up the bumper where it meets the fender)
Minty 92-93 front bumper with bumper lights
300mm Broadway mirror
PWJDM sidemarker wiring kit
Just make sure you have red lights for brakes and amber for your turns. Cause if not then their illegal.
Still, great find!

Yup…technology has come a ways since I first bought some of these back in the day. I think LED bulbs will work great. The old “red” bulbs would turn pink after a few hours lol
Even better! lol
man thats nice!! i wish i could find a set of clear tails for my db1
I wanna find a set of those too they look nice!
Been super bored lately waiting for parts to come in and making sure I have everything I need for paint.
Yesterday I test fitted the clear tails. Perfect fitment, just like I remember them. They even had all the OEM tabs and holes to transfer over the wiring for the bulbs hassle-free.
Night shot. The LED’s work perfect. In person they look even darker red.
Can’t lie, I am jealous of those tails
Thanks man. They should look real good once the car is dropped, painted, and wingless. They look a little funny on a stock height car.
So here’s a few “photo updates” since parts have started coming in…
1st I resprayed the ES Oval a fresh flat black with high temp paint
Got my C-Pillar bar in. I took the ends off as I’m in the process of spraying that flat black as well.
Password JDM power mirrors. These will be paint matched (keeping the bases black).
SRR bumper quick release kit. These will also be sprayed flat black. They come with “front and back” kits, but I will be putting one set on my 90-91 bumper, and another set on the 92-93 bumper so I can swap them out depending on what style I want to go with at that particular time (I’ll be getting different lips for each bumper).
The Gathers will get shipped out this weekend, and I’ll be doing maintenance this weekend as well (flushing tranny fluid, swapping in axle, and I will also try to make time for the exhaust installation)
Couldn’t pass up on a deal and I needed a new CD player for the car so I scooped these up…
Gathers Creative Hybrid Processor VX-498
Gathers Full Color Graphic/Control CD Player CS-598
wow that gathers set up is nice!! where could i find something like that?
Nice thread… Glad I am not the only one out there that has the patience to wait and get good stuff versus ebay crap. (allthough ebay does from time to time has some descent stuff if you look hard enough for it).
I’m finally on to where my engine is stable and can get into the body work I need to do befre sanding it all down and prepping for a trip to a paint shop.
only side track this week is running up to SF for a Neuspeed strut bar I found for 55 bones woop woop.
def a nice build tho. I have started the hunt for a descent GS-R for the next project after I get my GS squared away.
did u buy that from the seller on H-T?? i noticed the pics are the same
yessir.
Got the c-pillar bar and Password JDM mirrors installed. Pics will be posted later when I get home.
arent you on azht?
