Hey I was wondering if i could warranty my seat belts…i didnt modify them in anyway, just remounted them onto rsx seats…my passenger side wont go back up
Mounting them on a different seat is modifing and i would doubt it.
just put the OEM seat back in, get it done and put your rsx seat back in.
i KNOW THIS IS OLD THREAD BUT IS THIS STILL EFFECTIVE AND IS IT EVEN IF THERE NOT BROKEN?
fukin aye! So this morning my drivers side automatic shoulder belt never came back up on my 1993 Integra GS-R. I just wore my lap belt, so is this something I can get repaired for free? I just bought the car used in October.
It’s stock as stock can be.
Go back and read, you should find your awnser there:up:
Got my appointment tomorrow and yes they said it’ll be covered under the lifetime warranty! Just hope they don’t keep it too long. I don’t wanna drive the M3 since it’s been raining
Seatbelt Solution
:bowthank: If your driverside seatbelt wont return to starting position try this: open the little access panel behind the drivers seat. It will be about knee heighth if you were sitting behind the drivers seat. Open the panel to expose the seatbelt motor, chances are it will be wrapped in blue plastic. Now comes the technical part… Wiggle the motor around by grabbing the plastic and knock it around pretty good; its kinda like jiggling the handle on a broken toilet! Theres a decent chance that your problem is a loose connection somewhere in the vicinity of the motor… worked like a charm for me!
i think im have the same problem but the passenger side how can i tell if my seatbelts need replacing
BROS!!! The dealership said there is something wrong with the motor, and THAT part isn’t covered by the warranty…does this sound right???
HELP!! Parts=$700 + Labor=$300 = $1000!!!:wtf:
Update, when I went to pickup the car they added the rail itself needs to be replaced, tack on anther $498 for a grand total of $1500 to get my automatic seatbelt replaced.
jesus hell thats a lot of money. i would never pay 1000 bucks for the seatbelt to get fixed. mine was free, and i do belive it was the motor.
can you check that for me please? I need all the ammo I can get when I call Acura tomorrow.
Well I called Acura Customer Relations office and they said “EVERYTHING” including the motor should be covered.
I was even given a case# to refer to if any A$$hole dealers try to pull a fast one. And they told me to tell them I contacted ACURA regarding this.
So there it is, wish me luck I’ll try Acura of Los Gatos since someone gave them a thumbs up around here. The thing I suspect is that Los Gatos is an affluent neighborhood and thus they treat their customer way better, sucky as that sounds but it happens…
here are the part numbers
81831-SKY-A03- drive unit assy ← isnt that the motor
81837-SKY-A03- Rail guide assy
the people at the dealership said that some parts are not under waranty. and that is really freaky while i was writing this the dealership called me and wanted me to do a survey…
Well Sunnyvale Acura called me back and they contacted Acura and they WILL do the repairs for free
So all in all it ends well, they are ordering the parts today and should arrive by Friday. I’ll update the thread once the job is done and tell everyone that everypart of the seat belt assembly is covered by this lifetime warranty and they can use me as a reference if anyone else has trouble in the future.
4/26/07:
Car was dropped off at the shop for warranty repairs, even got a loaner Acura TSX I should get it back tomorrow. I’ll update the thread and scan/post the service order so people can use it for reference.
4/27/07:
Below is the repair invoice of what they changed. I even got a rental car during the repair. So feel free to reference this invoice for anyone having trouble with their dealer regarding seatbelt warranty work.
getting no where with the seatbelt warrenty
bump. I contacted an Acura dealer in Plano, Texas yesterday. He says that the only thing covered is if the belts don’t clip shut. My problem is the driver’s side is stuck in the down position and doesn’t move when you open the door. (Auto belts). I contacted the Acura Customer Relations Office at 800-382-2238 today. They say the same thing. I have also read someone (here I’m sure) that the red (push) buttons on the lap belts were recalled and should be replaced and upgraded if broken or not. Customer Relations says there is no such recall. How are you guy’s getting your seatbelts fixed (motor, rail, etc.) free of charge? Tell me…what am I doing wrong here?
You just gonna have to call again and speak to someone else and call bs, and keep working your way up the chain of comand. you got 5 pages of proof here.
I would start by reading the thread again to get more ideas of who you need to talk to
im going to try an get mine done friday it was raining in southlake some lady pulled out in front of me when i slammed my brakes my belt didnt catch and i slammed my forhead on the window so now i have a huge knot and a spiderweb crack on my windshield… wish me luck.
one minute it’s not covered the next it is
The first time I called Customer Relations I was told it was not a lifetime covered part. (the motor). The next call I received a different rep and she said that anything to do with the seat belt not working properly is a covered part, including the motor. hmmm. I imagine,it just depends on who answers the phone, and what kind of mood they are in.
so i went to the dealership today and argued over the car according to the guy since i put on aftermarket locks and alarm it may void any and all factory warrentys… i was so pissed at the idiot i told him he really should find another job. then he say whats wrong with the seatbelts i explained it he said it looked fine to him then i asked him to look at my windshield and explain what he thinks happend… he said well it looks like someone hit there head on the windshield… i reply with WOW YOUR A BRIGHT ONE THATS WHY I NEEDMY SEATBELTS REPLACED… so now i have to take it up with customer relations…
sorry im in ranting soo pissed with my local dealer…
aftermarket alarm
I have an appointment with the dealership for Monday. I am to drop my car off for diagnosis of seatbelt. I was told the rental for one day, diagnosis and seatbelt fixed will all be covered under this lifetime warrenty. I too have an aftermarket alarm. The seatbelt was broke long before that was installed though. I am hoping that once I get there that will not become an issue. Is there another dealer in your area that you can try? It seems to just depend on who you talk to. One person might be willing to do it and another won’t.
